I went to yahoo to find the group and hopefully join, but I got the message (Sorry, no matches were found for acertec@yahoogroups.com), any idea why is that?

Thats a good point, we wont be able to chat .... but even more impostant, we will not be able to exchange info about rthe company with one another ... and some of the info can be very useful to all of us .... maybe we can start a yahoo chat group ? I am not very knowledgable about how to start one, but I am told that it is easily done ... any suggestions?

surdy - you are welcome mate, we are here to assist one another with any info that can be shared. LectoriSalutem - thank you also for your post and for the interesting info you shared. In the meantime, let us sit back and watch the under-nourished SP in its disguised death roll :-) ... and maybe await some fireworks in the last week of dealing .... It is impossible to put a time frame on that, there are those who make all kinds of prediction based solely on wishful thinking, and then there are others who speculate rationally according to available information. So if I was to do the latter, then I believe the 7p will be attainable in the first month or 2 after a new trading system is set by ACERTEC. I also have a gut feeling that during the week between the meeting (22 June) and between the last day of trading the shares on the stock exchange (29 June) there will be some big time manipulating by MM ... and we might see unexplainable swings up or down. I feel the big players in the company will top up big time during that week, when small players are panicking into selling due to their uncertainty to what the delisting brings. I had a very useful email today from the executive in reply to my email. I asked him if they may consider applying for a CVA (like what JJB Sports did) ... but his reply was very assuring, he said that the company does not have any problems with its creditors .... this together with the reduction in cost (900K) after delisting, will for sure make the company more profitable than before. But the SP just before the proposal to delist was 7p ... hence it should be at least that and even more after. The current SP is false, it only reflects uncertainty .... hold on everyone, we will be in a much better position after delisting, gl to all.

They will have all this planned out after re-registration as private and they will make it possible for sales and purchases to take place in an easy non complicated manner. So we will have to wait and see.

I am positive you will not lose your hard earned cash ... you say that my post was the only good thing you heard about this share ..... but I think when we share deal we must always try to remember to isolate what we hear, from what the facts and figures say ... with regards to Acer, these are the facts and figures: 1- The average unmolested price of ACER shares just before the proposal of delisting was around 7.2p 2- As a result of the proposal lots of uncertainty errupted causing lots of panic selling, as many people did not have a clue what delisting means to their shares. 3- The panic selling made the sp fall to as low as 1p 4- According to the circular posted by the company, the company will be £900,000 better off when delisted and re-registred as a private company. 5- Barring any new unforeseen factors, it follows that ACERTEC will be more profitable after delisting due to the cost reduction (delisitng, plus other cost cutting measures explained in the circular). 6- Being more profitable means rising sp. 7- The least we can expect, is that the sp would return to its realistic level that was just before this episode came about. The level then was 7.2p ..... this is the least we should expect. It is up to us to take these facts on board and hold tight, or we can disregard the facts and figures and follow what we hear, I am glad you are among the wise, gl to all.

Unless the sp goes to 7p before the 29th, as it did few days ago, which I think is unlikley now with all the uncertainty, I intend to hold. From all the reports I read, they all seem to confirm that delisting when done voluntarily by a company is usually good news, since it cut costs and makes the company more profitable. This is unlike compulsory delisting by the stock exchange, as the latter would indicate more serious problems with the company. The only concern for shareholders after re-registering as a private company, would be the ease of selling/buying their shares. I also spoke to the secretary Michael Hayhurst, and he said that they have a few measures to facilitate the dealing of the shares. With the new Government's £2000 incentive for scrap cars (when buying a new car) and also the banking system starting to repay their debts to the taxpayer (e.g. Lloyds yesterday), things may well look more promising in the latter half of 2009, so although I am taking a gamble yet I believe that the ACER shares will be above the 7p margin after going private, I could be wrong, but its a gut feeling based on available info, gl to you if you also intend to hold, and to all others.

Hi Ninja and papillon ......... I was in and out with my CKSN shares, I just took advantage of the uncertainty caused by the consolidation, bought at 21.8p (£2.18 in the new system) and got out at £2.97 ... good luck to all.

Thank you for all who posted their views about the delisting and whether it is better for us shareholders to vote for the delist or against it. All your input is appreciated, may I just add one point that I believe must be factored into the equation. According to Acertec, the main purpose for delisting is to cut costs. This means that if the delisting is not approved by the shareholders, the financial burdon and costs on the company will be more than what can be negotiated, will this make the possibility of the company going into administration more probable? That is my fear if the proposal of delisting is not approved, any thoughts on that?

according to the secretary of ACERTEC it was posted yesterday, so we should get it tomorrow , or monday ....

thanks for reply, but I wasn't really asking if I should sell or hold, I am asking everyone's views whether its best to vote for or against the delisting proposal, cheers.

hey guys, still no reply to my earlier posts, please respond, this is a matter that will affect all of us, here is post again: I am holding a large stock of these shares (was 800,000 then topped up and now it is 1,585,000 shares, which according to ali2k2 is over 3% of the votes), but I am not sure which way is best to vote : for the delisting or against it? The circular will also include a card which we can fill out with our vote and post back, so we do not have to attend the meeting to vote. What I am proposing is that every one of you please post your views for delisting or not, accompanied by your reasons for or against. Then we can all vote the same and have a unified vote. 75% have to agree to delisting for it to be passed. So our votes WILL be important. Please respond, this is important for all of us, thank you.

Hi mate, you say you saw a company delisted and the sp went through the roof, did the sp do that rise just before the voting for the delisting, or just after it was voted to be delisted ? thanks

ACERTEC proposed delisting to go private. If it becomes a private compan, we would still own our shares, but they cannot be traded on the London Stock Market. they can be bought and sold through the company itself, this obviously is not as quick and easy as pressing a button to buy/sell for a company that is listed on AIM. Hi all, I spoke to the secretary of ACERTEC a while ago and found out few issues which I would like to share with you: 1- The circular is sent out today, and the proposed meeting for voting on the delisting is scheduled for the 22nd June. 2- He confirmed that reducing costs is the prime reason for the proposed delisting 3- Included with the circular is a card that can be filled and returned with our vote, so it is not neccessary to attend the metting to vote. I am holding big stock of these shares (was 800,000 then topped up and now it is 1,585,000 shares, which according to ali2k2 is over 3% of the votes), but I am not sure which way is best to vote : for the delisting or against it? What I am proposing is that every one of you please post your views for delisting or not, accompanied by your reasons for or against. If we all decide which way to vote then our unified vote will have a count (75% is needed to approve the delisting). Awaiting some views ..... cheers
