I'm not incorrect, I was quoting dollars, and you've just confirmed it's $1m + $0.5m for the MMU unit

Joking aside I think you've nailed it. Any hint of success and we'll be a take-out target. And (I just know I'm going to get ripped apart for this), I doubt it will be anywhere near the amount that some are looking for. I've been investing (gambling) in AIM companies for over 20 years, and almost all have ended badly. The whole system is rigged against PI's, so I've seriously trimmed my expectations of what we might achieve if we're bought out. And I do think we will be. Wasn't Mike Kirk brought in as a buy-out specialist when we were doing trials for Maersk, with a view to selling out to an oil major? Once we're 'proven up' I believe the dirty tricks will begin, all the underhand tactics used to acquire a minnow on the cheap. I'm firmly of the belief that talk of 'north of £1' is fanciful, purely because I've been there before, and it never happens. I'll be happy with 30p+ and delighted with 40p, above that I'd be completely amazed. This is just my opinion, but I do see QED reaching commercial success, I do think it will be Utah, and I think it will be fairly soon, and short lived, I think the BoD want out. But all is not lost , I can currently buy 20p, 30p 40p tokens for less than 2p, so that's what I'm doing. It's a gamble for sure, 'investing' in the AIM casino has always been an absolute game of chance, but I do like the odds at the moment

What development? The only costs we should have is building MMU's before we sell them. Once we're generating revenue we're in a very strong position in any negotiation. Clients wanting our lab services will have to pay for it. I wouldn't be against a raise at that stage, to allow us to move into tolling mode, but the royalty model is so compelling. I also think that kind of growth for us isn't really on the cards. The Yanks aren't going to be held hostage in Utah by a tiddly British outfit, one of the big players will buy us out in my opinion

Not necessarily. If Valkor get a move on we will get $1m from them, plus another $500k when we sell them the MMU. If all that goes to plan, we should then start to receive royalties from them, which will increase in line with their stated drilling programme

It all depends on your glass, mine is half full. I look for the posiive signals that help me decide. JM put 15k into the last fundraise, for no apparent logical reason (he has several million options already), AM put 12k in. Not the actions of people in the know, if it's going pear-shaped. Michael Peterson has quit as CEO of Trio Petroleum to run Lafayette, so that he can concentrate solely on the Uintah Basin, and posted publicly on LinkedIn about the fantastic prospects there. Valkor have already secured offtake agreements for the bitumen they're anticipating producing. MAC2 have completed works at their facility. We haven't officially been told that things are not progressing, so until that happens then for me, they are progressing. The news black-out is frustrating, for all of us, but it's also an opportunity, so I'm still buying as and when I can. If I'm wrong, it won't be the first time, and I'll pick myself up and get on with life. I just think it's the best chance I've ever had of finally winning at this rigged investing game

10 months ago the SP was 0.9p. Today it's 1.9p, so why aren't you congratulating the BoD for more than doubling the share price?

And, before the usual suspects start with the 'sycophant' replies, I'm just pointing out that timing is all a matter of perspective. If you'd bought in for the first time 10 months ago you'd probably be quite happy

You're obviously allowing your obsessive bitterness affect your rational thinking Vince. If you'd taken the time to look at my last post you'd grasp my understanding of where we're heading. And it's not blind faith in the BoD that keeps me positive, it's the fact that we're now partnered with go-getting junior oil explorers, who have huge ambitions for the Utah project. In a way, it's kind of out of QED's control now, other than making sure we get a decent royalty figure agreed. By pure chance it would seem that our process can unlock vast profits from these tar sands deposits. So, even though I'm as frustrated as any other LTH regarding the glacial progress with MSC and OCP, I'm still positive that QED has a bright future, and if it plays out like we all hope, then in my eyes the BoD will deserve our congratulations

It's all about Valkor for me at the moment. They have everything to gain from using QED technology. MSC, Maersk, etc have nothing but pain by adopting our technology. There's probably little in it for them regarding running costs, and apart from some greenwashing, no real advantage in hurrying it along. OCP can reduce their costs and be 'greener', but we don't know the relationship with the current fuel provider. If it's the cousin, uncle, whoever of someone high up, they'll need placating, and will drag things out. Once Valkor have an MMU installed and are producing MSAR, there should be an explosion of interest for the remaining leases in Utah, and our SP will take off accordingly. I'm still convinced a marine project will eventually make it, but for me Valkor are by far our best option at the moment

Yes I get that, one of your initial 'ifs' was whether the bitumen minus the diesel can be emulsified. But, is MSAR easier to produce with the diesel still in the bitumen? Does it make any sense to extract the diesel, with the associated costs, if they can go straight to MSAR production from the raw bitumen?

Does the diesel need to extracted in order to make MSAR, or are they doing this initially to use the diesel for power gen, steam raising etc prior to the MMU being commisioned?
