Highbridge started during March highs
Adelphi been trading it since getting in during June 2020 previous highs.
AHL been longterm trading it since April 18
Polygon got in during March highs
Whitebox trading it since Dec 20.

NHC are the only ones that really stick out as in a mess.

As sammy and others have mentioned the shorts and percentage is only a distraction and those basing investment on a "huge squeeze, an AMC type meme stock move" are IMHO deluding themselves and at times trying to do so to others here too.

Similar to the takeover we have had imminent about every other week from selection of fictional buyers for about a year.

Takeover may one day happen, now (right now) I can't see it and it's not a solid basis for investment decisions.

The business will either recover and become a highly cash generative business again and management will be smart on cost reductions, debt reduction, increasing share of market etc.
OR it won't .

Business fundementals should for the most part be our investment deciding factor.

I guess they saw and still see it as a strong candidate to go to zero.

On flip side a number of us should have sold at the £1.20 level with view of moving on or happy to buy back in on drops.

They didn't close out shorts back then so I don't see them being in a hurry to do so at current levels.

When it's tens or hundreds of thousands per penny movement and at those serious lows it could easily have been argued they were on a further winner I can just about see why they did as they have.

The smart ones have traded in and out, both long and short.
Or like Jangho gone long topping up when there is value in share and selling when overcooked at that point in time.

Yip, the best thing we have right now is website like: box office Mojo.
This gives box office details globally and in particular USA where our business will be made or broken.
Doesn't give Cineworld specific numbers, but reasonable to assume we are attracting not too dissimilar cut as we were of the whole market pre pandemic.
Go U S A as few of us keep repeating.
UK as our second biggest market by far has some relevance, but let's not overstate it and the rest really has so little bearing anything other than very occasional passing comment is really waste of energies.
Good point made also re the machinery oiling up after rusting over and it won't be an overnight full recovery.

Marvel stuff is THE big draw of recent years.

A few suffering premature trouser stains because of some individuals reports of their local cinemas being less than half full for a blockbuster on opening night ;-)

You do realise there are many brokers and because any particular one gives a target price it doesn't make that a guarantee and it is not usually a target for tomorrow.

FF9 8pm screening tonight (so probably about premium time slot).
Biggest attendance I have been at since Covid so far.
Counted 62 of us in there, had some concerns in foyer not as busy as have seen some nights recently (however forgot I was bit earlier than normally would be).
The target audience turned up for this, lots of young lads groups of 2 - 5 and few girls as mates too. Families and then some "others" group I probably fall into.
In Scotland the restrictions are still such that you just can not get the numbers some here are reporting.
That was one of locals biggest screens, think holds 3 - 400.
Every second row requires to be left empty and in occupied rows space of 3 seats between groups so really pretty restrictive and sure cinemas will be glad when we finally remove these restrictions.
Looks like August before that up here though.

So pretty much as expected, good turn out under current limitations and likely to return biggest box office so far since covid.

Our individual observations hold limited value in reality though.
Sites like box office Mojo will over time show us the trend again.
As Ash mentions I expect late Q3 into Q4 we see decent improvement.

The film itself - well if you enjoyed previous installments you will likely enjoy this.
If they were not your bag before, this will prove no different to you (go see something else).
Good to see Bond, Black Widow and Suicide Squad all trailered too.
Heard some murmerings during these so expect that's some further family visits planned.

Off to my local 8pm screening now :-)

My local isn't sold out for any of the screenings that I can see at this time.

Ash my best guess would be most likely time is when further uncertainties are removed e.g. period of non restrictions regards covid, period of viable strong box office, Cineplex case sorted (all 3 still hang on the price in my opinion especially as we are a heavily indebted company uncertainty will weigh heavy and make for easy price manipulation)
