Oak, I just noted these 3 things as they somewhat impact ref therapeutics. Partially my take, some quoted:
Fauci said there will be invariable a 'next' variant. Regarding Deltacrom, Fauci said "it is not something that the WHO feels is of grave concern now, but "we keep our eye on it". Regarding Omi peak in the USA, he said they may see a peak of Omi in one region of the US, but in another it will lag. Areas will peak at different times in different places as people have varying levels of immunity, behaviours, etc, "America is a big country" he added.
Fauci said we (him/US) are in "constant communication" with Whitty and Valance to know how things are in the UK. I think he mentioned daily calls?
Janet Wood**** went on the record in the Senate hearing, saying "there is still an extreme unmet medical need for therapeautics particularly for late stage of disease going into ICU getting on the ventilator (sic), so robust development is still ongoing in the therapeutic area." Context: She was asked if it was true that BARDA had told industry in the US that there was no longer an unmet medical need for therapeutics. Her answer (above) seems to indicate that was misinformation and it was not true.
