Anyone noticed the quite large sells going through all day and yet the price isn't moving down with almost zero buying? Large order being filled 🤔

Just in case anyone needs a run down of our companies current expected production figures and need some perspective when these results come back as low for obvious reasons.. and w look at the operational status across the company’s assets tells a more strategic story.

Tajikistan – Aprelevka Gold Mines

Still operational. Gold and silver output continues, and the company has announced upgrades to equipment, including a tertiary crusher and a dedicated silver plant, to increase capacity.

Romania – Baita Plai Mine

Currently on care and maintenance. Vast announced this pause in May 2024, as part of a broader review aimed at optimising costs and potentially restructuring operations. Due diligence is also ongoing at the asset, which may open up future strategic opportunities.

Zimbabwe – Diamond Parcels

The company is focused on cleaning and beneficiating the 130,000 carat parcel from the historic Marange settlement. Although not a producing asset in the traditional mining sense, the parcel represents a significant near-term revenue opportunity and is drawing full attention from management.

This means the current operational snapshot reflects a transitional phase. With Baita Plai paused and the diamond parcel not yet at the auction stage, production-related figures will naturally be lower in the near term. However, once diamond sales commence and Aprelevka production scales up, we could see a return to meaningful revenue and improved sentiment.

This is a case of short-term operational pauses being used to reposition the company for more sustainable, high-margin activities. Investors would be wise to look at the full picture, rather than judge the company purely on a dip in current production output.

FYI - these are prices per carat. Those stones selling for 20-40k are per carat - that 10 carat stone at 40.5k is currently selling for $420,000.

On second thoughts - I've created an account on the rapaport auction site - the stones on there dont sound like any of ours. They're mainly all GIA certified and cut / polished - I don't think we've had enough time for that. Unless there are other auctions I've not heard of, our diamond sales won't be for another month or two at least.. however a JV or proper catalogue update could drop any day.. so I think I'll be keeping hold of my shares for at least a few months yet.

I'm actually quite shocked that the price has remained almost static for almost 6 weeks straight, on AIM with basically no news. Bodes well!

So basically today and tomorrow are the current auctions for diamonds in Dubai - the next ones after that are 10th aug for single stones, and beyond that into September.

This is not speculation for speculation’s sake. It is what happens when a previously undervalued resource is properly revealed to the market. *

With Vast now publishing a high-resolution image of beneficiated stones (https://x.com/vast_resources...), it is worth revisiting the potential value of this parcel. The stones shown are part of the 4–6 carat range and appear notably clearer and more translucent, revealing structure and internal colour that was previously obscured. This supports what Andrew Prelea stated in his interview: historical valuations were low because buyers were essentially guessing.

The beneficiation process now underway removes silicate and metal coatings that previously hid gem potential. This is significant because Marange diamonds have long been sold at a discount due to visual opacity, leading to industrial misclassification and suppressed pricing.

ESTIMATING VALUE: PRE AND POST BENEFICIATION

Historical Values (based on global rough averages):

Untreated Marange rough (sold blind): $30–95 per carat

(Source: Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation auctions, historical data across 2005–2020)

Misclassified industrial rough: $3–5 per carat

(Common for opaque stones or where no internal assessment was possible)

Potential Post-Beneficiation Values:

Based on rough diamond pricing guides such as I. Hennig & Co, the Diamond Registry, and actual auction data (e.g., Rapaport), untreated but clean rough stones in the 4–6 carat range may command:

Near-gem: $100–250 per carat

Commercial gem quality: $300–600 per carat

Fine coloured or highly transparent stones: $800–2000+ per carat

These are typical global auction prices for similar size rough stones when sold with proper clarity and grading. The clearer and better-shaped the rough, the higher the value due to ease of cutting and reduced risk.

ESTIMATED PARCEL VALUE

The parcel reportedly contains over 130,000 carats. Prior to any beneficiation, 30 percent was considered gem quality. With this new chemical process revealing clearer interiors, a 50 percent gem yield is now realistic. Here's a breakdown:

FINAL THOUGHTS

This is why the recent image release matters. It visually supports the narrative that Vast is now taking control of the valuation process through clarity enhancement. If even a modest portion of the parcel reaches the upper bands of valuation, the results could:

Eliminate Vast’s debt

Reduce or remove the need for further placings

Prove the value of this unique beneficiation process

Potentially position Vast to buy low-grade Marange parcels and reprocess them at a premium

This is not speculation for speculation’s sake. It is what happens when a previously

300-400 is essentially impossible without a bunch of ultra rare, large coloured diamonds. We shouldn't be banding those figures around

30-50m (USD) is a reasonable guesstimate, and after 20% costs (24-40m USD) is still incredibly transformative for the company, wipes out old poor terms debt, financially fronts the company and allows much better refinancing agreements.

And only 19m shares traded today. That leaves 3970m shares untouched. A lot of serious holdings here.

I'm not quite sure how it’s “over-hyped” when we still haven’t seen any official valuations or sale figures. If anything, it’s been under sold to the market so far.

Let’s not forget — Vast raised £2.7m in a single day with institutional backing after this parcel was confirmed. The company has already said that the diamonds will more than cover all outstanding debts. That alone is a major milestone and changes the financial picture significantly.

If they only clear £10m from the 130k carats (which is modest based on even mid-range valuations and the new two-stage beneficiation process), that’s a debt-free company with producing assets in Romania, active JV interest, and due diligence ongoing at Baita Plai.

A distraction? This might be the core that unlocks everything else. Let’s see the numbers before writing anything off as over hyped.

Soul - That’s a fair question, but I think there’s solid logic behind the approach.

You wouldn’t want to run your highest value or rarest stones through a new or unproven chemical process until you're absolutely confident it works safely and doesn’t risk damaging them. Especially with Marange stones, where the coatings are thick and unpredictable, it makes sense to test and refine the methodology on low to mid-range stones first.

Now that they claim to have perfected the process, they can scale up confidently - and that’s when the higher-value gems should start appearing.

Most likely a worked buy, a large portion of the day was 0.32-0.33 so the order was likely placed in this time and the low volume for the rest of the day delayed the filling of the buy. Also makes sense for it to be a buy baring in mind the price shot up into close which it wouldn't have done with any selling pressure at all.

Also if it was anything later than 5 minutes ago, it's worked into the price and doesn't matter 😬😂

Looks like we may be in for a flurry into 4.30 again boys and girls, hopefully a timeline on auctions and tenders to be released soon or a larger catalogue of stones to be released. Any updates on the process at all will be welcomed!

Yep there it is, the slow worked buy that caused the price to shoot up at the end of the day once it was filled / to fill it

I've been watching this share and was last in back in 2018 where I was trading it between 40-60 pence per share (crazy huh)

AP's Track Record

The frustration around AP is well-founded. Vast has had a long history of delays, failed expectations, vague communications, and repeated placings that have punished long-term holders. AP has indeed been “at the tiller” throughout much of it. Investors have watched the share price erode while updates have often arrived late, overly optimistic, or lacking follow-through.

So yes, the scepticism here is justified. People have heard “game-changing” talk before from Vast, and it hasn’t materialised in the past.

The ‘Few Days to Months’ Comment - in early interviews and emails (including from AP and Susie), the language was:

“Photos within days”

“Auction shortly”

“Processes in place”

Now, it's:

“Processes perfected”

“Sales in coming weeks”

“Further polishing and beneficiation under review”

The shifting timelines – without accompanying RNS detail or auction dates – understandably breeds doubt. It feels like the goalposts keep moving. Again.

Is This Time Different?

That’s the big question. The process itself is promising. The diamonds look significantly better, the methodology could genuinely add multiples to value, and if repeatable, could position Vast uniquely in the market.

But we are of course no longer taking words at face value – we want concrete sales, cash flow, and independent validation. Until then, it’s just another “great story”.

So yeah you are right and we have seen the pattern before and are right to hold management to account. AP may genuinely believe in this breakthrough, but after so many broken timelines, only delivery will restore trust.

If you’re still holding, it’s wise to stay optimistic but grounded. However we shouldnt let the past have us dismiss real progress – but we shouldn't let excitement override our due diligence either.

I feel like with a bunch of diamonds in hand, and multiple JVs at the ready, along with potential asset sales, and the whole company being evaluated - we do have plenty to look forward to.

Side note, seeing plenty of chunky buys slipping in throughout the day here, and yesterdays 25/50m buy still isn't showing (so if it pops up today it's a buy at last night's lower price, not a sell 😂)
