We have a terrific RNS this morning. All we are now missing in an FPSO hooked up and working. And in a couple of months time we'll have that too. The share price ought to be pushing towards a quid now. Why isn't it?

Sorry, still seems a bad deal to me. The market isn't exactly cock a hoop with it is it? The rise on the news was pitiful. And now look, we seem to be rapidly heading sub 50p again. Not exactly a ringing endorsement from the market wouldn't you say?

Off topic, but I'd really like to know, how do you get into HUR in 2005? I'd be interested in learning how I am look out for the next HUR that comes along. Thanks.

Thanks all, again, hope I am wrong but the RNS talks about 600k to 900k barrels. Give or take, that's about 25% of HUR's reserves. Centrica, nobody. Outside the UK what are they? Total irrelevance. The market speaks, the deal is worth 5p. Anyhow, I've said it all now. Again, hope I'm wrong and I land my 300p. Super majors are watching closely and Dr Trice isn't looking quite so shrewd any more.

I already said, I hope I am wrong. But selling 25% of HUR to an almost nobody smacks of desperation.HUR still has 300p written all over it. But will BP, Shell, Chevron, Total pay top dollar now? 25% has gone at fire sale prices. Again, I hope I am wrong. I'd rather there been an offer of shares at a discount, say 3 for 1 to raise the cash. That way, we'd still own it all.

I hope I'm wrong on all scores, 600,000 to 900,000 barrels sounds close to 25% of HUR's reserves to me. FWIW, I'm in at 30p I thought then, and still do that HUR has 300p written all over it. Now, closer to 150p, I think.

Exactly, PATTSV. Around 25% of HUR has gone and we aren't even back where we were on the rumour of Statoil bidding. The buyers strike looks very real to me and Dr Trice looks suddenly very weak. At least from where I am sitting. Very disappointing.

Well, my take is that this farm in is a very bad deal for HUR holders and I think the market agrees. After all the talk of super major farm ins or complete take overs, this move by Spirit Energy smells of desperation to me. Spirit Energy? Whichever way you try to spin it, in world terms, they're a nobody, an also ran. I really fear for the value of the rest of HUR's assets. A lot of people, including me, could be very, very disappointed in 9 to 12 months time. Looks like the mooted buyers strike is real to me.

I am averaging about 33p-ish. And HUR is 5% of my portfolio. Have no doubts about the potential being delivered and I can wait. What I would dearly love is for HUR to be my first ever ten bagger. Possible but unlikely, I guess. But I wait patiently like most of you for the payday to come round.

The absence of any news flow could well be why the share price is drifting downwards from its peak. It peaked because of news, it is drifting lower because there is now no news. Look back at HUR, you will see this has happened repeatedly over the last year or so.

I would be very dubious reading anything in to what you find on that particular contractor's websites. I can state from my own personal experience that the company posts websites that give an impression they are much more involved in work than they actually are. It can be hard from the outside to tell what is fact and what is not much more than fiction. On one project I was working on, a colleague sent me a link to a page on the web that on the face of it gave the impression they had won the epcm contract for the project I was working on. It was almost but not quite, lies. I can't say any more.

"IF" the guy is a BP geologist, then with Shah Deniz and Shah Deniz 2 being BP projects, I seriously doubt you'll get any information that doesn't already exist in the public domain. It would be more than his job is worth to say anything. And, I repeat, not in any way comparable to any of HUR assets anyway.

Off topic, yes. Shah Denis is in no way comparable to Lancaster or any other of HUR's resources. Chalk and cheese.

Bought at 24p, 15p and 5p. Soon be breaking even at 12p, I hope. Tempted to cut and run from this one though.

Indeed, the LNG is delivered to Finspang by trucks from Norway. The greatest thing about LNG, of course, is that turning it back to gas increases its volume by a factor of 600 or so. The thread talked about testing and commissioning of gas turbines. But if you prefer, substitute Finspang for any one of a number of large base load gas fired power stations in Japan or Korea that run their turbines off LNG. Huge LNG carriers are a daily sight in Tokyo bay, for example.

It is perfectly normal to start and run gas turbines on LNG fuel. In fact, in Finspang, the turbine factory in Sweden, their turbine test beds have LNG as their fuel. Many machines are built (probably the majority in fact) with no capability to run on liquid fuels like gas oil.
