I would have thought the biggest driver for renewables was the domestic electric market. Their grid is in sh**t state because of lack of investment and coal lobby running the political class. Electric prices are horrendous over there and little solar penetration because of coal lobby. Things are changing since Elon musks 100mw/h battery saved the day when grid went down because of power station failure. Practically powered local grid for forty minutes until stations online again got a lot of publicity for that coal lobby egg on face saying batteries are a piped ream???

If they use Tesla modules its about 100kw/module so 10/megawatt thats 3000 and approx 75kg of lithium in each module. Ahhhhhh a lot

One of the unforseen problems in Tesla was the final assembly of pack.Automation of this procedure was a nightmare so much so it caused a bottleneck in production of model 3.Now it is sorted it gives Tesla a huge lead in high volume cylindrical battery assembly which the compitition has to sort out.This is why it will ship finished packs to china factories to keep this very specialised tech in house as much as possible.
