Well that's pretty much what it is.

So long as the business makes it clear that that is the case then it is up to investors to include this in their risk assessments.

The business has made it clear as you've pointed out.

The risk of course is that SM don't get paid for work completed.

Further risk assessments of SMs customers might assuage concerns in this respect.

For Christ's sake.

Companies have their own internal decision making processes.

It might take months for a large business to finalise everything before putting pen to paper.

Apple started in 1976 and was on the verge of bankruptcy in 1997.

Most well known tech companies took many years/decades to achieve success.

There's hardly any "overnight successes".

People who had shares in the companies probably whinged for England for years but the patient were richly rewarded eventually.

Fingers crossed we all get rewarded with SM.
