I think most of us thought CCL would climb to £17-£20 or even more this year even though we knew all about the interest rates and cost of living crisis. We also thought CCL should be in profit this year. We also knew it couldn't go up in a straight line.
It's all playing out just as we thought. Nothing has changed. She's hit £13.50 and retraced back to £11.00 just like she hit £8.50 then retraced back to £6.30 in March. She then climbed to £11 before retracing to £9.74 in May. Next stop was £13.50 last month before falling again to £11 now. Next stop £15?????
I was surprised when I read you'd cashed your chips in BotBot but if you're happy then that's great. Not sure I'd be comfortable holding 40,000 CCL either tbh. I'm holding but with only a third of your amount. Good luck with whatever you get into next and don't be a stranger mate.
When I take a look at the trades there are always trades for 1 share. Who is buying or selling 1 share lol? Is this some lazy fund manager that is buying a share for a client and charging them £15 for the privilege? I'd be livid.
I think the shorters have been a bit short sighted betting against cruise companies! Maybe they don't cruise? If they did cruise they would have known that the average cruise passenger pre Covid had a high disposable income, was mortgage free and would be the least affected demographic of a cost of living crisis and high inflation. They still can and want to holiday and are incredibly loyal to the brands they use. Then post Covid the cruise lines still have these customers but they have also attracted a whole new bunch of first timers by using huge advertising campaigns and lower prices to fill cabins. I've got loads of friends that have cruised for the first time this year and these people now have the cruise bug. No-one goes on a cruise just once! Add in all the airline staff strikes, air traffic controllers, baggage handlers going on strike etc and the fact that cruise holidays are now on par in price with land based holidays then it's no wonder the industry is booming. Any shorters reading this don't take my word for it. Close down your terminal and do your homework properly, go on cruise lol.
Yeah I thought we'd seen the bottom at £12.80. Remember when we tanked on earnings and then flew back up? I was thinking of that and didn't want to miss the boat if I didn't get in. Just minutes before I bought in we'd almost touched £13 again. I think we'll rally before and after the close. Back above £13 tomorrow morning.
Looks like they broke records and surpassed expectations. I'll never understand the markets. I'm out at the moment and stuck in a couple of stocks. Gutted I didn't get back in at £12.69 just after 12:30pm. Could dip again on the US open and be a great buy in opportunity?
