Welcome back Bot sounds like youve suffered about as much at the hands of the casino as we all have holding Carnival for the last month!
Regular posters you know who you are....is it just me feeling slightly apprehensive about the next earnings call? I'm just a bit concerned that the market has already priced in the recovery by CCL and anything short of magnificent results is gonna send us backwards again. Oil approaching $100 a barrel is also a concern for me.
Thoughts guys?
I'm thinking we'll rally long before the results are announced and probably dip in the news! I noticed this morning Qube Research & Technologies Limited have closed their short as well or at least reduced to less than 0.5%. There's no short interest showing now in UK CCL shares. Gotta be a good sign.
As I've been saying for a while it looks like we've got great support at $15.50 and I think we'll be breaking out shortly. I'm not one for reading charts but you don't have to be an expert to see the bullish trend so far this year. We've stopped for breath this month and it looks like $20 could be on its way during the next run up. DYOR

We did two weeks on Azura last year out of Malta and really enjoyed it. It was actually two 7 day cruises back to back. First week it was just the two of us around the Med before returning to Malta where the rest of our family joined us. Second week we sailed east and visited the Greek Islands and Mrs Fordy and I renewed our vows with all our family onboard. Was a cracking two weeks.
Not sure I'll ever understand the correlation between London and New York pricing of this stock. Some days it seems to mirror each other but then other days like today it's way out so far. From the London close yesterday NY went on to gain a further 0.75% until it closed. Now in pre trading in NY it's up a further 0.62% from its close last night. We closed yesterday at £11.31 so add the 0.75% owed to us from last night and now the further 0.62% owed to us now and by my reckoning we should be at approx £11.46.
At time of typing we're on £11.36 or a whole 1% difference.
I clearly don't understand it. Does anybody else?
Seems that she broke her moorings whilst moored this
Morning when a freak storm hit. She was then blown across the dock into an oil tanker. No casualties reported and initial reports say damage to Britannia is "minimal". Currently moored 1 mile offshore while the damage is properly assessed. Passengers that where ashore at the time of the incident are being held in the terminal.

BotBot, If you wanna buy back in CCL has support at $15.50 we've seen that all week. If she drops below that then she'll drop another dollar or so. If she holds up she'll start moving back up to $18.00. Just my opinion mate DYOR
Morning guys . We seem to be holding up ok here but as normal we'll probably tank on the US open.
Absolutely fuming I missed out in Watches of Switzerland this morning. Was gonna go all in at £5.06 but got distracted (making a cooked breakfast for the grandkids lol) and when I looked back it'd already gone up 20p. Fast forward an hour and I've missed out on a 10% jump. Gutted isn't the word!
Yes it's bankruptcy USA style. Think Cineworld Bhants, they couldn't recover from the pandemic quick enough and entered Chapter 11. Shareholders eventually wiped out. Back in June 22 Morgan Stanley issued a note warning we could hit zero in a worst case scenario!! Fall in bookings, Covid resurgence etc. We were at around £6.50 at the time I believe and I remember when the news broke. I was all in at the time. We all knew the risks trading CCL back then but it was still very sobering when you heard it out loud like that from Wall St.
I know how Bot feels I've been there myself but you gotta accept it and move on or it'll eat you up from the inside. My point was that there are plenty of positives. He made money! Happy days.
Enjoy your cruise Bot and don't get onboard still raging, it'll just ruin your cruise. Also you don't wanna start hitting the casinos in that frame of mind looking to chase "losses".
Morning Bot,
She's got a point mate. Don't dwell on it pal what's done is done. It was a real possibility that CCL could have gone into chapter 11 this year so look at the positives. Your entire holding didn't get wiped out but instead you walked away after making a few quid. I'd take that as a great result.
Easier to post a link than try to explain something I don't really understand myself lol. To be honest I'm not even sure it was down to PMI data but whatever has caused the spike I hope it holds up.
