These are very dull times for us Nanoco shareholders. Whether or not I hold Nanoco shares is irrelevant, I identify as a non-binary Nanoco shareholder, meaning my identity isn't defined by conventional qualifying attributes like owning shares. I'm just focusing purely on me and everyone else has to adapt so that I can fit in because that's my right.

I'd like to see a mix too and in fact, anything with value that vaguely reflects the current market cap, unlike the current revenue prospects.

I do believe that email, that comment wasn't trying to spread doubt it was just a disclaimer.
It doesn't change previous points made about there potentially being no cash left for Nanoco after settlement. That is a factual possibility, but for the thousandth time, not my personal prediction! I think a settlement has already been factored into the share price.
With regards special dividend, the commercialisation of the organic business SHOULD require increased R&D and so I don't think there SHOULD be any balance left for such a payment in any case.

I would find it bizarre if the Nanoco BoD opted for a special dividend. I'd probably feel more confident if they didn't, especially given the recent share price volatility. Any payout could be lost in a share price fall anyway.

bluerill I don't think they have more than enough cash. They've been on a cash preservation exercise for several years now and to achieve this, they scaled back R&D massively. Really they shouldn't do this given the sensor market is still in its infancy. The sensible (if you'll pardon the pun) thing to do would be to split any cash between business costs (extending cash runway) and R&D in my opinion.
A special dividend or buy back in this context would be irresponsible.

It would be contained within an RNS with a follow-up research note.
As it happens, Edison state any retained funds (if any) will extend the cash runway.
What sense would it make for a loss-making company to give a load of cash away before any definitive break-even point has been established?
In fact, no shareholders should want a special dividend at this point.

I can categorically tell you there won't be a special dividend.

If the award is £219m from an early settlement Nanoco may retain half, then there's the loan so say £100m + organic business at £30m gives a share price of 40.37p. Oh yay.

I don't think it does. I think the shareholders have been misled by the Nanoco BoD.
'Fair' is very subjective, but even my prediction of a shocking £50m is not fair in my opinion.

You can read the writing on the wall or choose to ignore it, it's up to you.

Nanoco will pay full legal costs from the reduced early settlement and a multiple of that will be given to the funder.
The reality is zero is a possibility.
My prediction is £50m retained though.

Retaining nothing is now entirely credible.
