In the Court proceedings, I guess we infer that the govt responded in April/May to the BKY/PP appeals, and that we are now in the period when the Court is considering the legality of the CSN appointments. On the face of it they're clearly illegal to a layman's mind because of overt appointee conflict of interest (eg Castejon). The court might take several months to give its ruling perhaps. It's interesting that BKY's PR machine is keeping quiet about the reasons for the appeal. Hopefully we'll end up with an unbiased good quality analysis and report from CSN, and with a CSN board that will do the job that...er...the CSN board is supposed to do.

We should also know soon what El Guapo's new coalition will look like. Hopefully whoever's in it will shortly be considering a properly produced report from a properly constituted CSN, and also listen to what the local community wants. Small wonder the majority of municipal councillors are from the supportive PP, even though its broader politics is not for everyone. BKY believe the overwhelming majority of the people of Retortillo want the mine.

Election seems to reflect the majority support for the mine in Retortillo.
Anyone know what's going on with the CSN appointments? Last I saw was in April when the then outgoing government had 10 days to respond in the Court to the PP challenge to the appointments. Did they respond, and is the Court now scrutinising the appointments?

Like MTS highlights, re-list/IPO may be driven by the PW FID, maybe an equity raise at that point, so probably no time soon. Events and more deals may overtake this though.
Of the legacy assets, the Philippines gets a bit of commentary, but good to see FG/SADR are also still there in Verneer and Northpet etc. FG might perhaps wake up at some point.
I also wonder if the secondary market trading facility will be set up now, given the likely re-list delay?

Lots of posturing now I would imagine. More Machiavellian than Machiavelli. Would Sanchez really go for more of the same, with small regional parties holding the balance of power again, until they pull the rug again for whatever reason? The stronger mandate is perhaps for a coalition with the centre right - granted that's less likely from what's being said at the moment, but maybe that will change in the coming weeks.

Perhaps a leapfrogging deal coupled with a comprehensive structured finance package and IPO/re-list.

The beeb news app is suggesting coalition with the centre right as a possible alternative to Podemos/regional parties. That might make sense as it was the regional Catalans who withdraw support from the previous coalition and precipitated this election in the first place. Also, the Today programme said voting seems to have been tactical to some degree, ie to keep the far right out, rather than vote the socialists in. So a more sensible stable centrist coalition might be the way it goes. That might be better news for BKY.

You're quite right about limitations generally on commentary on ongoing legal proceedings, and about Sean, who I've also spoken to in the past and also found to be v helpful. My beef is that there were no RNSs about for example the CSN appointments, BKY's appeal or the Court decision on 4 April. All were important events, drove SP change, and I believe I'm right to say were matters of public record. There was probably no obligation to RNS them, but they could and should have been RNSed, particularly given the BoD's historical approach of being very vocal about the project at every opportunity. Just my opinion of course.
For now, the key events to my mind are the Court decision to suspend (or not) the CSN appointments, and the election results. The press will be the best source of info for those. I'm watching too.

This article is quite coherent as to process. Assuming suspension (likely imo), court assessment of legality would follow in the ensuing months, I understand. BKY could and should give shareholders a lot more info and guidance on this imo, for example press reports of the events and decisions in the political and court process are affecting the SP radically, yet we've heard precious little from the BoD. It was difficult to shut them up when they were tub thumping about the project before all this. Don't go to ground now, just when we need close guidance on matters which are likely to determine whether this is going to proceed at all.

Good day, and without big volume. I agree it's got the potential to really fly.

Maybe this is some natural bounceback after the decline in SP over the past months, perhaps as the issues highlighted by the company work their way through - "Our share price suffered towards the end of 2018 and in the period thereafter owing to the settlement of our patent litigation case, some investor sell-down, and declining levels of investor interest for smaller biotechnology companies on the London Stock Exchange."

How's this election going to pan out? I understand polls currently suggest the socialists leading (30%), but they might not be able to form a functioning government even with Podemos (14%). Will the centre/right end up in coalition, but that would involve getting into bed with Vox.

The quarterly report doesn't guide us much on what and when we might expect to hear more from the court proceedings.

When does this 10 day period the Court gave the government on 4 April to respond expire, I wonder. Tomorrow (the last wd before 14th)? Thursday next week (ie 10wd)? Some other time? Does the court rule as soon as the 10 days is up? Where's a lawyer when you need one?
