Reversing Dunraven into ORM looking likely. Anderson hopefully won't want to dilute his significant ORM shareholding in any raise. So things just might be looking up for us long-suffering shareholders? At least something might happen.

imo CNE have been well advised by their lawyers and strategists throughout on the retrospective tax issue, eg pursuing an award under the treaty. Hopefully CNE and their advisers will get it right now too - continue a possibly protracted costly fight, or settle on terms or under the new law, or whatever. I'd like to see an early RNS on approach, but appreciate there's a lot of thinking for CNE to do first.

Thanks Seav, and blimey o'reilly didn't think that would be possible - I'd only seen the reports about introducing the bill in lower house, and assumed it would take quite a while to go through the system. CNE a bit blindsided no doubt, after nearly 10 years of this. GOI may have pitched this well.

I can't see the Indian parliament rushing this through and it may be watered down on the way.
What should CNE do? Arguments both ways. It would be nice to have a clear statement from CNE soon as to how they propose playing it. Perhaps a united approach with VOD and the others affected?

CNE need to box clever here. Don't want another delay, and be back to square one if parliament dilutes this. The govt isn't exactly reliable. Bet there's some busy advisers chewing over this, trying to work out the best approach. Great news today though.

Looks good, and looks like the forerunner to legal action by BKY against CSN. "the technical issues raised by the NSC lack both technical and legal support".
Presumably BKY/Freehills are now preparing to issue the lawsuit, whilst allowing a reasonable time to pass for CSN to respond to BKY's request to reconsider (which CSN won't of course!). September for issue maybe?

TOT has now gone and Dole shares have just appeared in my ISA without losing the wrapper happily. Despite the disappointing IPO and further fall to $15, imo these are a hold for now. I agree value will out eventually. It's a strong business.

The report from IPCC on 9 Aug should be very interesting. Might help point certain politicians in the right direction.

I like the absolute and bullish tone, BKY "has taken the first steps to overturn the previously announced unfavorable decision". Not "to try to overturn" but "to overturn".
It looks like CSN and BKY are going through the unavoidable procedural motions, CSN opening a "hearing" where they won't of course be hearing or listening (!) and BKY responding correctly but knowing this.
I imagine BKY will start lawsuits ASAP now, with CSN continuing to prevaricate and whine about being "bullied", trying to mire the project in uncertainty.
This is now ripe for a court of equity to slam the CSN's cynical disingenuous approach. At the very least the CSN report should be judicially reviewed and struck out. It's so obvious the CSN is abusing process to try to achieve a political ideological result it's not entitled to.

We can still hope the law, the EU's JRC, UNSCEAR etc etc, science and the urgency to reduce emissions will combine to trump counterproductive anti-nuke politics and ideology, prevailing for now amongst the influencers in those governments.

A poisoned chalice to pass to her successor for sure. As a pro-nuclear scientist, I'm sure she largely regrets implementing the nuclear moratorium post-Fukushima, done to keep the greens out at the time basically. What will her memoirs show about that? Germany's policy and emissions record is appalling, Spain's too. U-turn on nuclear needed.

Tragic events in Germany being linked to climate change from emissions. Meanwhile the Germans are phasing out their safe clean green nuclear power stations, have nearly completed Nordstream 2 to bring in more Russian gas, and are bulldozing villages to expand their coal mines, coal still being where 25%+ of their energy comes from. In reality, they need to do the opposite, ie phase out gas and coal, and have more nuclear power stations and uranium, together with renewables. Like Spain and elsewhere needs to do, starting with permitting Retortillo. BKY should take the gloves off now, and get stuck into some serious legal battles with the CSN and the coalition, after this week's stitch up.

Also, there's no chance of getting anywhere near these new EU targets without more nuclear.

REs still a possibility, I recall BKY did some work on this a while back, and there's some prospectivity.

I'm sure BKY will have foreseen this possibility, particularly given the political nature of the CSN board appointments (one director even being a mine protestor!) so I reckon they'll go for an immediate judicial review type lawsuit which they'll be confident of winning as due process looks clearly not to have been followed. That seems to be the hint in the RNS. Damages and compo no doubt also being considered.

Strong words from BKY, the report looks blatantly ultra vires, so JR or other legal process next presumably. They're well advised legally. Protraction and more delay though.

On the other hand, the Plenary has postponed to the next meeting that will take place on Monday 12 (at the request of the counselor Javier Díes -by virtue of the provisions of article 34 of the CSN Statute-) its decision on the Proposal for Technical Opinion ( PDT) prepared by the Technical Directorate for Radiological Protection (DPR) on the request for authorization to build the uranium concentrates manufacturing plant in the municipality of Retortillo (Salamanca).

Postponed till Monday I think
