I noticed pretty decent volume today Newkotb for only half a day trading!

Pretty happy going into the New Year at 241p, felt it was pretty important to close out the week sat on or above an old high which was resistance & now support, which I hope will be a good start to a new phase in Serica Energy’s history. I’m hoping Mitch comes out all guns blazing next week, with his PR machine set to max (I can dream! most likely nothing until the January update…) but would show we’ve turned a corner, thanking BP for the partnership & now time to move on to the next deal & challenge for Serica…. plus maybe a mention of a special dividend… (if only)

Just for a bit of context on the price of gas per therm & after a quick read of the January 2021 update, I thought it’s good to show how far it’s come from then, the following is an extract from it..

Full year 2020 average market gas price was approximately 25p/therm and the average market oil price was approximately $43/bbl equating to a combined price of approximately $20/boe before realised cash hedging income of approximately £12.3 million

So we’re sat around nearly 10x the realised average gas price per therm for 2020, & brent oil just shy of $80 per barrel …….

What realistic percentage dividend yield do you think we should have if paying an interim/final dividend then? a small increase on the current, as that’s what the Bod thinks ok, or a more realistic 4 - 5%.. also with the growing cash pile, what do you think they should do with it?

What’s not to say Serica aren’t already looking/involved in the bidding process. Did seem odd the responding to media speculation announcement but no one seemed to of seen the article where Kist was mentioned .. Newkotb/Maverick any views on it?

That’s unbelievable revenue for the first few months of the year, tailing off into the summer months with nat gas summer prices still at a high 175.5 p per therm..

Just on the point of special dividends, a couple of other stocks I follow but not hold, they’ve dipped on price when ex dividend, but consequently have then risen & gone on to make new highs.. one thing I noted was ex dividend was 10 days after the announcement, & paid shortly after, so maximising rewarding LTH’s…

I certainly agree that there should be an interim dividend & final dividend, a special dividend would be a bonus! after all, a lot of shareholders would use the dividend to buy more shares & hold…
