Savage that's just incorrect, as we move toward AI and automation what will these extra millions of new arrivals do for work? And when they get permission to stay and apply to bring their extended families over, some of whom will be past working age, how will services cope with them?
The High street is dying a slow death as retail moves online, through outlets like Amazon with items stored, picked, and moved using robots. 20 years from now Taxi's will probably be self driving, so those jobs will go; Call Centre jobs will be done by AI, so those jobs will disappear, in fact as robotics and AI advance there'll probably be a miniscule number of jobs left requiring human intervention; Even medicine will utilise AI to reduce the workforce.
Reservoirs don't fill up because it rain's directly overhead, you need large water catchment areas so you can't build on those. The larger the population the more reservoirs required, meaning you need ever more catchment to deal with out of control population growth; You need more sewerage, waste disposal, electrical generation, etc, etc, so who'll pay for all these extra services as many jobs disappear?
Higher population density means lower quality of life, with more congestion and more crime, that's obvious to anyone who looks at statistics.
The UK could have been a nice country with nice spacious houses, low congestion and more open recreational spaces, instead the majority are persuaded to live in expensive shoe box houses in an urban sprawl with miles upon miles of housing and buildings and little greenery.
