I'm quite interested in anything Quantum. I think the idea behind Quantum computing is to create algorithms, utilising superposition and entanglement of Qubits, to create probability waves within the Quantum computer with destructive and constructive interference of the wave function giving the most probable answer at the output. The theory is that a Quantum computer, using enough Qubits with the right algorithms, could crack any encryption by testing all possible combinations simultaneously and producing the most probable answer.
Computing is following a similar path to communications. In communications the early transmission systems used Frequency Division Multiplexing to combine channels, then everything went digital and now they use Dense Wave Division Multiplexing to carry the digital signals as optical channels over fibre; DWDM is just a form of FDM at Optical Wavelengths. Quantum computers will use digital computers at the input and ouput, but the Wave Functions generated between the Qubits are analogue in nature.
What goes around, comes around. No pun intended. In a Qubit it goes around, and comes around at the same time.

I understand they are due some money from a court case win, but that's in relation to historic litigation under the Clear Leisure 2017 CL17 name and isn't in relation to anything in QBT's current business model.
What you might be able to answer is how they're going to grow revenue from the current €9,000 per annum, to the required €555,000 to cover wages alone? That's without including all the other share and operating expenses.

It's ok Jamboner, I've already exceeded my boredom threshold on this forum. It's pretty clear investors on here are either unable, or unwilling, to have a sensible debate on Crypto, which reinforces my belief that Crypto is all hype and no substance. Good luck with your investment, but I'm willing to bet QBT's future value will depend entirely on the price of Bitcoin, so in my opinion it is a relevant subject on here.

I've already explained why I started posting on this forum, I noticed QBT on the hot chat topics and Quantum in the title caught my attention. Why would I hop from forum to forum when I've already started discussing the subject here?

Indeed. It's one thing listening to the opinion of others, at the end of the day we should all form our own opinions. To be fair I didn't invest in Amazon when it was just selling books, I didn't see the business case for Google and Facebook, and I prefer Android to Apple so I didn't see the rise of Apple. In truth, I still don't see where all the finance came from to build the Tech Giants from scratch, it feels as though the hand of God touched and blessed them to become the giants they are today; In their case the hand of God is probably non existent regulatory oversite, allowing them to take over any competition before it's established and unlimited financial backing. It's clear the US Tech Giants wouldn't and couldn't have formed in the EU, or UK. I expect regulation will soon get a lot tougher for the tech giants. As far as Crypto's concerned, are Central banks going to allow anything that is uncontrollable and a threat to the financial order? I think not.

Jamboner, I'm not misleading anyone. I've seen the video's talking about Bitcoin moving in cycles and how it'll shoot up in value when "halving" takes place. I'm of the opinion that crypto currency is 99% hype and 1% substance, so it has the potential to drop to 1% of it's value at any given time. If Bitcoin drops to a dollar, then who's to say it wont drop to a cent? There's no tangible asset value in a bitcoin, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay.

So, who am I trying to fleece?

My motive for posting, is purely out of morbid curiosity of anything Crypto related. I'm still no closer to understanding the psychology of people who think Crypto has value.

You miss the point of my posts, I don't know enough about QBT pipeline products to form a judgement on the viability of the company, the current ratio between revenue and operating costs suggests they're unviable and at the mercy of the bondholders. If you want to see what can happen to companies, at the mercy of bondholders, look no further than Sirius Minerals. Sirius Minerals is a masterclass on shutting out shareholders.

You're correct I don't believe in Bitcoin, but I don't see anything sad about discussing it on a forum dedicated to a company heavily tied to the Crypto Currency. I watch the video's about Crypto, with the narrative suggesting Fiat currency is "illusory" and having no value, but the fact that we all use Fiat currency on a daily basis refutes that.
Another narrative suggests that your money isn't safe in Fiat, but evidence suggests Crypto is far more risky. In 2007 we put £200,000 into a fixed interest 2 year Halifax cash bond paying over 6% per annum, way above the FSCS £50,000 protection threshold; In 2008 the Halifax was on the verge of collapse and Lloyds stepped in after some Government encouragement, taking over the failing bank, but the Government went on to guarantee all UK savings anyway. Without the Government protecting our savings we would have lost £150,000, or three quarters of the initial deposit, which would have been painful to say the least; In the end we received the cash plus accrued interest at the end of the bond period. The FTX collapse has exposed Crypto customers to catastrophic losses, with no protections whatsoever, so they can only hope they'll get some of their money back in the coming years, apparently one UK customer could lose her life savings of around £5 Million. I think my example demonstrates that Fiat is far safer than Crypto, since Crypto has no backup in the case of failure, whereas Governments wont allow the failure of Fiat under any circumstance.
The other narrative stating Bitcoin is a store of value is laughable too, tell it to someone who bought in above $60,000 in November 2021. If you want to protect your cash against inflation, the tried and trusted method is to invest in profitable companies with good cash flow, personally I prefer companies that also pay dividends.
In my personal opinion, I find it sad how vested interests tout crypto as some sort of financial world changing fix everything technology; All I see is something fake and valueless, I'm yet to be convinced otherwise.

A lot of funds and wealthy individuals have preached the Bitcoin faith, staking a lot of cash and their reputations on the success of Bitcoin, I'm thinking of people like Mark Cuban, Mike Novogratz, Cathie Wood, Michael Saylor, etc; On the other side, you've got the likes of Warren Buffett, Jamie Dimon, Nouriel Roubini and many Central bankers.

Mark Cuban describes the early days of the Internet as analogous to the current Crypto environment, with the current financial system comparable to watching TV, but I'm not sure that's a valid argument; In the early days of the internet it wasn't just about watching a sporting event, it was about connecting everyone to everything across the globe. Current Crypto has underperformed the current financial systems in every way and Central Banks could create their own Crypto as required, so even if there's a future for Crypto, why would they need to use the current coins?

In the case of QBT, as a developer, their technology may have a future in a Central Bank Crypto World, but that remains to be seen and doesn't make the case for the survival of Bitcoin.

The survival of the current Crypto industry, and coins, will depend on the masses taking it on board and embracing it. The Whales can lift the price by buying and selling to each other, but there's only so much they can do on their own and at some point they'll have to cut their losses, if mass adoption doesn't happen. The Crypto Exchanges will also go out of business if trading drops off a cliff, as the Crypt community shrinks, and the miners will become unviable if the price keeps dropping.

Gary do you even understand what 6G is? Because as far as I can tell even the media can't make their mind up what'll be defined as 6G.

From the hype I've read, 6G will be as much about applications as it is about bandwidth and latency, so it's likely 6G applications will be supported over the existing 5G infrastructure, so could utilise existing 5G Frequencies and incorporate design enhancements already built into 5G such as Massive MIMO.
At best mmWave and sub mm wavelengths will be useful in enclosed populated areas, like shopping center's, stadiums, trains, planes, etc, but outdoor distance communication at those wavelengths wont be possible. Bandwidth and latency is determined by distance and Frequency, so the much hyped 6G cells in the Extremely High Frequency (30GHZ to 300GHz) range are more and more limited by obstructions, atmospherics and even movement as the frequency increases; Sub Millimetre wavelengths are in the Far Infrared range (above 300Ghz), so you can imagine the issues providing service over distance outside using sub millimetre wavelengths, not really feasible in my opinion.

In my opinion, 6g will be an add on to 5G and unlikely to involve massive infrastructure investment, by the Mobile providers, so not an issue.

In my opinion non of the Telecom stocks will see significant SP rises, until the big market players swing the media narrative from negative to positive; Unfortunately its anyone's guess when they'll do that, in the meantime I'll keep topping up as funds become available. I'm baffled by the low valuations the market is placing on the Telecom sector, since Telecoms is an essential service and once 5G and FTTP rollouts are completed, I can't see any need for further major network infrastructure upgrades for decades to come.

Established Telecom companies can't see growth unless they enter new markets, or are in underdeveloped third World markets. What established Telecom players can do is grow the bottom line through cost savings.
BT is a classic example of an incumbent that would find it extremely difficult to grow top line revenue, what they can do is invest in FTTP and 5G leading to massive cost savings once their transformation is complete. Once BT switches off PSTN and legacy network, moving to a full IP/Cloud model, they will need less staff, less buildings and the Network operating costs will massively reduce too. I think the market underestimates BT's ability to increase Net Income going forward.
Vodafone can see growth through their holdings in Africa and other developing economies, plus they aren't incumbent in the markets they operate in. Economies of scale help both Vodafone and BT, allowing them to build cheaper than the smaller newer entrants.

I can't read the article as it's behind the FT paywall, but I'd suggest he isn't being considered for the post of Vodafone CEO; If he was being considered for the CEO post, he wouldn't be contributing to articles knocking the industry. The parts I've seen, in quotes on here, would suggest he's been eating some sour grapes.

You're correct Bitcoin is garbage, even Jamie Dimon describes them as Pet Rocks, Charlie Munger describes it as worthless and dangerous, Warren Buffet said "he wouldn't purchase all of the Bitcoin in the world for just $25 if he had the opportunity."

Apparently lots of Bitcoin option trades expire tomorrow, so there may be some volatility and price movement going into the expiry. The price could either dip below $16,500 or go above $17,000. There are 90,670.34 BTC Call options with the majority having a strike price of $17,000 and above, with 56,199.84 BTC Put options profiting if the strike price is below the underlying BTC price. There are a good chunk of Put options around $16,500 and below. Unfortunately I don't understand Options trading, so your guess is as good as mine if the price will rise, dip, or stay the same.
