"Problem with that is - you’ve been saying it the way you see it for years now, which has been the polar opposite of reality. Anyone who followed your advice must be nursing eye watering losses now."
Let's get something clear, I don't advise anyone on how to invest; I post my opinion and back the opinion up with links, etc, and by topping up where I see value, as dividends become available. I'll be reinvesting my dividends back into BT when they arrive in Feb, that isn't advice it's what I'm doing, it's up to everyone else to do their own research and make their own investment decisions.
The dividends from our current investment are now approaching £22,000 a year, tax free due to half being in ISA's and half in my wife's name as she's a non earner. Every time we reinvest the dividends, our dividends increase, so I wouldn't say we're not making money. Since we've been reinvesting the dividend income back into stock, it's been bringing our average cost per share down, so you could consider that a form of growth. A paper loss isn't the same as a capital loss and I have the choice to take income, or reinvest, currently it suits us to reinvest.
Toff, you can do what you want with your investments, I have no idea if your investment strategy makes you money, or not, since you seem to be more interested in criticising my opinion rather than posting your own trades and strategy.
Handy everyone wishes you'd keep your trap shut, since you contribute nothing to the debate.
I must be doing something right to attract the ire of Toff and Handy, I'll have to post more often.
