"You insist that one ex-footballer must be “impartial” but make no comment about the impartiality of the above?"
Do any of the others you mention go on twitter to deride Labour's policy positions? And if they have, where's the media coverage of it? And what do you think Labour would say if they did? Look at how Labour have gone after Richard Sharp.
Clearly the Channel migrant situation is a political hot potato, so any "influencer" with a large social media following, and employed by the BBC, should be aware that posting such things could land them in hot water. Because of Gary Lineker's wealth, I'd suggest he's insulated from effect of UK overpopulation and the cultural change forced onto people in the Urbanised parts of this country. His wealth gives him choices most people in this country can only dream of, and if the country turns to 5h1t no doubt Gary Lineker's wealth will allow him to have a comfortable life elsewhere in an exotic part of the World.
The Channel Migrants have camped out on French shores, sometimes for months, and paid smugglers thousands of Euro's to be smuggled into the UK illegally, hardly desperate people fleeing persecution, the only thing they're desperate for is to come into the UK; Something else, why didn't the UK Government enact this sort of policy 10 years ago?
Since I'm not a social influencer, when I express my opinion it makes little or no difference, whether that's writing to my MP or posting on here. Most people in this country feel they aren't listened to, by the politicians, with their complaints falling on deaf ears. Clearly the politicians running the Government aren't particularly concerned what people think, unless they sense the mood is such that they need to act for self preservation purposes, I'd suggest we're reaching that point now.
People are fed up with a substandard NHS that seems like a bottomless pit for money, yet the service seems to see little improvement no matter how much cash is thrown at it. Try and find an NHS Dentist, or get a face to face appointment with your Doctor these days, why isn't Gary Lineker currently posting about that? I see he did post in 2020 about the NHS being at breaking point, but where does he think the money's coming from to fund the needs of the ever increasing UK population? Many of whom depend on the state and will never be productive.
Personally I think the Government should go a lot further; They should introduce ID cards, unlimited fines for companies that employ illegal labour and have a purge to eject anyone from the country who shouldn't be here. Radical, I know, but my opinion doesn't really matter because I don't have a huge social media following and no one cares what I think anyway.
