Fastjet launches regular domestic passenger flights in Mozambique today, becoming the first foreign-owned company to do so, a Civil Aviation Institute spokesman has told Lusa. �The operating license and certificate are held by Solenta Mo�ambique,� Francisco Cabo said. The parent company, South African Solenta Aviation, holds 28.48 percent of Fastjet, a British-South African consortium. This morning�s maiden flight will connect from Maputo to the city of Beira, but services to Tete and Nampula will follow. Up until now, only the state-owned Linhas A�reas de Mo�ambique (LAM) has operated domestic flights, but management problems and lack of capacity have led to delays and rebooking. Solenta Aviation was founded in 2000 and is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The company has already been flying in Mozambican airspace, providing services privately to international companies based in the country. The spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Institute of Mozambique explained that to operate on Mozambican domestic routes there is no need for a tender, provided the company is recognised by the Civil Aviation Institute. �The calls for tenders are for international flight. Domestic flights are a concession, and companies only have to request it,� he concluded.

Pj . Apparently all operating out of Maputo today , just not showing on flight radar, non of the ERJ flights do , they seem to register as ( unknown) once the schedule departure time passes,
