I wonder if ST in the IC will release an article at 1200 on Monday, just before the results come out.
He can then make his recommendation 'stats' look really good, as he gets a rise based on his rec and also due to the hopefully excellent results.
With the buying pressure its certainly going to 'blow' when it goes !
The Rh price keeps moving up which has a great effect on our basket price.
I wonder what the trigger will be for the move upwards, the dividend announcement (which personally I think might only be 3p), or an ST article in the IC with a high target price.
Just tired to pop in for 20000 shares, cant buy any, nor 10000 is this usual ?
Interesting current bid / ask 48/49
Just tried a purchase of £10k and got a price quoted of 47.8p
I have decided I really don't understand the stock market ?
Unless there is some news leaked that is about to hit.
Any idea what that purchase is ? Someone look very keen ?
I happened to be looking at the prices in the last hour and there were quite sudden drops in the Bid /Ask price and when later the trade became visible there appeared to be large 'sell' taken place. I don't have level 2 to check things but with the price staying stablish today it looks to me as though someone is trying to disguise the buying interest. If we were a sea of large blue buy people might follow the volume - however for someone to buy, someone else has to be selling.
Can't see anything on HL
Looking increasingly like one.
I can't see that JP knows he will get an offer on a particular future date, so I don't see that the FSC would be related to a suspension offer scenario.
Likewise if he is currently in talks which have not concluded, I can't see how he can predict that they will finish on a particular date.
However, the 0800 start is a change and does suggest a deliberate timing, as for a lot of people its not a great time. History tells us though that no news precedes an FSC. I am sure we will get endless speculation upto that date.
What just happened to the price ?
Interesting to see the trades into the close.
I said a few weeks ago that I thought it was possible that SOU had 'misread' the seismics (as happened in TE9)
- but the "funny thing" that Brian mentioned was potentially that as a result of the 'error' they had stumbled onto a much better result.
Time will tell.
Well if the "in the know" crowd know its either a failure or a roaring success, the volume suggests that no-one knows !
I look at our current MCAP of less than £200m - and I am fairly sure that we will be sold for quite a lot more than this.
Well looking back to TE9 - it appeared that they missed what they were aiming for and also misinterpreted the Seismic in terms of depths of formations.
So speculating, may be Brian's comment about "the funny thing about Te10", is they got it wrong in some way, or drilled a little into the paleo, but have ended up finding something good as a result as a result of the error.
That would be a 'nice' funny !
Always find a certain person appearing on here spouting doom - has been a great buying point
No contingent payments were to existing CO (they have to be unless you want to list newco).
As for the contingent payments being under the control of BOD - you can have the resolution which votes for the deal have the BOD tied into paying all of the contingent payments they receive from Newco to the shareholders as dividends, that way they can't siphon off any money for ongoing operations (or 95 % or whatever % you want to include in a deal).
You can structure a deal to suit the outcomes you want.
I outlined the financial structure that would enable you to receive ISA enabled dividends (see earlier)
I am not advocating contingent payments as a preferred option, just trying to highlight how you can avoid the tax issues.
For what it is worth, if you look at it from a buyers point of view, that is what they would prefer - ie if TE produces lots of gas they don't mind paying us lots of money (assuming drilling and production timelines are part of the deal)
If we don't go for contingent payments then I think we will achieve significantly less for a LE.
Personally, I would like the board to give us 2 options:
Option 1: £2x initial payment and sell your shares / no contingent payments
Option 2: £x initial payment and possibility of 10x over next say 10 years
Dom'y fixate on EXACTLY on the multiples, or what is x or timescales - at least that dual option would cover both the more people that take option 1, the bigger the contingent payment would be for those who remain.
You can then take your pick depending on your wishes and circumstances
...awaits barrage of abuse for putting up thoughts !
