I've spoken to HL and they are pretty useless. The agent didn't even know what the ASX was and initially told me not to worry. Once he understood the ASX was in Australia he was confident that they wouldn't be able to hold the stock but they'd get in touch when they had clarity.

Anyway, AJBell we pretty helpful on the phone so I'll be opening an account with them and transferring my holding over. Unless any other recommendations for brokers? I've always been with HL.

Ha! Sounds like we're cut from the same cloth, esduk! Gamblers and alcoholics abound in my family. Funny you should mention leverage trading - I know, a very seasoned commodities trader (35+ years in the game) and even he has been stopped out of accounts while trading with excessive leverage (I believe in 2022/23 gold and silver had him at a false start). So even if you are exceptional, trading with money you don't have is a dicey game.

It's a salient point you make about meaning and purpose. I've been in sales most of my life (Software mostly) and it has been a drudgery going into the office. Although, as you mention, the social aspect isn't to be underestimated. I think the human condition always tries to convince us the grass is always greener. BUT, I never found the grass is not particularly green in a 9-5 (or 8 to 6 as it often is).

There is definitely something addicting about this game, so I try to "bank" money into physical metals where it's harder for me to roll immediately over into new trades.

Sounds like your not far from realising the dream! Understanding what the dream really is is the hard part!

It seems like there's a window of opportunity in the current environment to really make hay with commodities and Juniors. So much capital has been sucked into US Tech, it seems there's a rebalancing to value occurring.

In all honesty, I'd invested across many different stocks/sectors in the past and had a few good wins (William Hill was a real winner before it was acquired), but I've found commodities and the related companies to be the best for price fluctuations and read across to companies bottom line and sentiment etc.

I'm exclusively in commodity stocks now + physical gold and silver, learning and using technicals as much as possible for entries and exits. The Lithium upturn is treating me well at the moment.

I try to avoid trading day to day (my anxiety can't stomach it either) and would say I'm more of a position trader and I'm realistic in the fact that I don't think I'll do this for ever (I'm 33), but would like to focus for the next few years while commodities have their time. I don't have any dependents on me and no mortgage (but do own my own home) so that gives me a lot more flexibility on risk.

Life changing sums is relative I suppose. I will say that this share allowed me to leave my job and invest/trade full time. I still hold a position here but banked more than many years my old salary. I often remember the phrase "Pigs get fat but Hogs get slaughtered". This is clearly a stellar company with incredible prospects though.

Must be a few in here sitting on 100%+ gains. Some selling to to be expected as we churn higher. I'd say it's just part of the psychology of thinly traded stocks. Particularly those with large spreads.

All being well, we'll be 5/6/7/8p in no time.
