Well that was a very disappointing second half of the day. Here’s hoping tomorrow will see further gains. We surely have said goodbye (forever) to sub 0.10p. An excellent development. Great work by Yeo and the team.

Wild speculation on my part. Joining too many dots. But a Singapore based company, Atlantic Gulf & Pacific Company (AG&P) is building six import LNG terminals. Mostly but not all Philippine or Indian based. Could Timor be on their list? Could GemCorp provide the financing? Japanese connection as well. Greater Sunrise in mind.

AG&P LNG aims to take a final investment decision (FID) and start developing six liquefied natural gas terminals in South and Southeast Asia within the next one-to-two years, the company's chief executive said.

Sathyamoorthly declined to provide details on where the remaining terminals will be located.

Until now, AG&P LNG was fully-owned by AG&P Group, which counts Osaka Gas and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation as investors.

I agree Jarv. You would expect the BOIL website to at least have mentioned the upcoming meeting. We knew about it last week. BTW, Andy is not the greatest public speaker and Horta sleep inducing . Was anything said of any significance? I had trouble hearing it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if those selling shares today even know we’re in TL. It’s just a share that frequently spikes and an opportunity to grab an easy 10%. It’s going to take something special to break 0.1p let alone head towards the pennies. A reassurance of some sort that dilution is off the table would certainly shake things up. Unlikely, I suppose. Today was significant but you would be hard pushed to know about it. Might be a slow release pointing towards something much bigger to come. The invisible and unknowable chuditch negotiations really need to come to an agreement.

Got to remember there is a very vocal minority ( growing) who say ditch oil & gas for renewables. TL could suffer a lot from rising sea levels. I don’t know enough or frankly care enough about the internal machinations of TL politics. I read about progress with one eye on my investment. That’s about it. Horta says the right things. Let’s see what happens. Begging bowl often means winning new investment like Japanese orders for ship building announced very recently.

Chris, I think you mean Horta. Horta “appears” hugely popular back home. Joining ASEAN and WTO is a good start. He seems to be doing his best to turn an incredibly poor country around. Personally speaking I wish he would kick start Chuditch and improve my finances. The losses I’m sitting on are eye watering. Recovering a percentage will seem like a win. Tomorrow will be interesting.

Horta talking big geopolitical issues today. Chatham house hosting.

A great privilege to host President Jose Ramos-Horta of Timor-Leste at Chatham House today for a wide-ranging roundtable on regional and global issues. In the last couple of weeks alone, he’s met Narendra Modi, Emmanuel Macron and the Pope, which is testament to his global reach and insights.

Honestly, don’t think location is much of a factor when it comes to Inpex. Bought 5 Norwegian licenses last week. Route to market is our conundrum. Waiting on that damned Sunrise. No doubt we’ll here more of that at the embassy reception. Quite frankly, it’s taking too long.

Inpex describes itself as Japan’s largest exploration and production company and is currently involved in projects across multiple continents, including the Ichthys LNG project in Australia as its operator.

You forgot about Horta announcing that Inpex would be investing in TL offshore gas exploration.

Joking. But Japan sounding keen to find new gas supplies.

On the FB TL London Embassy page, President Horta currently conducting a “friendship” meeting with Timor Resources Principal Investor and non executive director Mr. Charles Brown.

Let’s hope he gets round to public speaking on the energy sector. In particular, Sundagas.

OK. That’s a good synopsis. I was thinking more along the lines of Sundagas are actually hosting the event at the embassy, coupled with the fact Chuditch is an important project for TL and Horta will sign the latest agreement whilst he’s here. No doubt the visit will centre around seeking new UK investment and assisting current ones. Chuditch is currently under the radar but that’s changing with the government taking a higher stake. The publicity can only help. Goodness knows we could use it. Would like to hear more on advances being made on the project and something on potential partners/ financing.

Ok. Sorry. It’s an interesting link. GemCorp in the business of investing in big energy projects. Will next week bring us some news? Very possibly. Certainly expect BOIL to be all over this. You can be sure TL media will. Chuditch should be front and centre of this visit.

Interesting re Kuwait, Horta made this comment in a recent interview:

The question is the cost of it, particularly of the liquified natural gas terminal that will handle the gas produced by Greater Sunrise. We have engaged with a company from Kuwait and a group of companies from China to develop it. Overall, we are looking at between $12bn and $18bn for the whole development.  

You can read too much into these things. But it can be fun. Recent post on LinkedIn detailing the Chuditch field and it’s possible reserves. Liked by 168 individuals. Many of them from well known companies.

Australia, Timor Leste to continue its partnership on CCS projects

Australian Minister for Resources and Northern Australia Madeleine King has met with Timor-Leste Minister for Petroleum and Mineral Resources Francisco da Costa Monteiro in Canberra on 23 January 2024 to discuss the two countries’ cooperation for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects, including the Bayu-Undan CCS project.

The Ministers have pledged to work together to develop the necessary legal and regulatory frameworks to allow the movement of CO2 between Australia and Timor-Leste and permit CO2 storage in underwater reservoirs.

They also renewed their support for continuing discussions between officials and the Sunrise Joint Venture on completing the Petroleum Mining Code, the Fiscal Regime, and the Production Sharing Contracts for Greater Sunrise project.

They also reiterated their commitment to the commercially viable development of the Greater Sunrise project.

on january 29th, the head of state will hold discussions with the business and corporate memberships at asia house, and at chatham house. on january 30th, the head of state will sign the business accord ceremony between sundagas and timor gap p****ria in the timor-leste coastal region, as well as attend an official dinner with the cplp ambassador, asean ambassador, uk government officials, and social communication officials, organized by the portuguese ambassador nuno brito.

on the 31st of january, there will be a meeting with gemcorp capital llp and altus group regarding the existing and potential investments in timor-leste, as well as a bbc hardtalk interview. on the 2nd of february, the president will give a keynote speech at the warwick economics summit, a large international forum held in europe, where university students with talent will participate and listen to speakers who have more interest and inspiration in the world. in just two years, the warwick economics summit is very happy to have organized speakers who are unlike anywhere else in the world to provide a forum that encourages the exchange of ideas and stimulates the challenges of people from all backgrounds. the visit to the united kingdom ended, and president josé ramos-horta's delegation continued to the united arab emirates (uae) in abu dhabi on february 3rd, 2024, to participate in the "zayed award for human fraternity" ceremony. president josé ramos-horta and his delegation will return to timor-leste on february 7th, 2024.
