I was also with ii and was in the same situation. They made the "company decision" on the change to the SETS platform at tehe nd of last year. I also asked them why and never got a satisfactory reason for it. You can sell on ii but not buy, so not much use to me!! So I had to move across to another provider (A J Bell) who are fine. Other providers are available. You will also find the same problem with ii on ALRT. Hope that helps.

AJ Bell is one that I now use as I have had to close my ii account as they no longer allow you to buy them.

Apparently a business decision based on when CPAI moved over to the sets platform. No logic in that but the ii's have no choice but to move providers if they wanted to go on trading it.

I am with ii and am in the process of moving to another provider. You can only sell CPAI with ii now. Very annoyed but have no option but to move. I am using AJ Bell but others may recother providers.

As mentioned previously I also queried with ii why they suddenly pulled the plug on capi with no apologies or explanation. I have moved them across to aj bell although it takes a few weeks to show in my new account. Very poor service. Took me 15 mins to get through to the cancellation team to advise I was moving an why. Rang a j bell and answered in 15 sec.

Interesting you mentioned that, both ii and another provider no longer allow you to trade ALRT (Defence Holdings). When I asked why they would not expand on it. Seems we are being denied the options to choose which shares to trade!

Following up from yesterday and fyi I called ii this morning and they confirmed you can only sell CPAI not buy so have opened up an account on another trading platform and plan to transfer the shares over to the new provider.

Looks like people using ii as a trading platform will have to move to another provider as they can longer trade this share, only sell them. Can I politely enquire which provider they intend moving to?

I checked with A J Bell this morning and they confirmed CPAI is traded and there were a number of buys this morning so all should be fine.

Many thanks. I opened the A J Bell account in under 10 mins but it is the CPAI stock ISA transfer that takes 6 - 8 weeks to move across. At least it is the amount of stock that is transferred across so as and when it goes up it will show the cash amount equivalent once it goes into the new trading account so will not lose out. ii have been utterly useless on a number of occasions, but this latest issue makes no sense as it could be traded before moving over to SETS yesterday.

Yep you are right - that's me lol.

Having spoken to ii this morning I can no longer buy shares but can sell them!! utterly useless. I am now in the process of opening an account with A J Bell and will transfer my shares to them. Apparently it can take between 6 - 8 weeks to take effect.

I am also with ii and had a similar issue when I tried to purchase alrt shares. I will call them tmrw to find out what the problem is. If I cannot trade CPAI I will need to go elsewhere. It maybe because it went over to stets today and caught them out.
