RE: Only 9 months left to wait!16 Mar 2018 11:48
A_H, don't be so hard on yourself mate - all the blockchain stocks that I am invested in or follow have followed a similar pattern since early January. And in ANY sector it is impossible to continually choose 'winners' (ie the sp NEVER dips below your purchase price) if you are investing for any length of time.
Regarding the time frame, the inference from the company email that you kindly shared on this message-board last week, suggested that year end was the MAXIMUM time it would take to successfully negotiate at least one pure-play blockchain RTO. Don't have the mail to hand but didn't it also suggest that one opportunity may be secured "a lot sooner" or words to that effect...?
For me this is a fairly binary play: there is nothing from the company to suggest that they have deviated from their RTO intentions, and every indication based on their extremely lucrative track record that once confirmed it will be a success.
We could get confirmation this afternoon or months from now. I guess like a lot of LTH, I wish I'd picked up the majority of my shares at a lower price, but with the lack of liquidity for small caps in general at the moment trying to trade this for an extra 10% would be a futile exercise. And should a deal be announced, it is likely that BLOC would immediately be placed in suspension, meaning that when trading resumes there is the possibility that price could be multiples of what it is now.
I suppose it all depends on your personal investment strategy and appetite for risk, but the biggest gains I have made (and there have also been numerous losses!) have occurred when I had the patience to hold a stock that I genuinely thought would be successful. Lack of conviction cost me a potential seven figure sum on a Canadian cannabis stock less than six months ago - check out the 1 year graph of Namaste Technolgies (C:N) if you want to see what another investor's "failure" looks like. I'd take a 30% PAPER LOSS any day!
Sorry for the essay, best of luck whatever you decide to do...
