OMG ! is that M and S down another 5.72 to 116.5 … but ofcourse I’m wrong Poker Chips better pack your case on our bet ..oh no I forgot you where not man enough to accept or even acknowledge it ….I’m going to lower myself to insults like yourself prob brought on my frustration and anger , could I have more right to sell at 160 no doubt you will come up with more twaddle saying I should of held on remember I can always buy back in .. I see you have about 2000 posts really !? You need to stay in more …Poker tell the room how much you have lost on your portfolio in the last 6 months and for once be honest …or will you just sidestep yet another question .. please show respect and not use my name in your future posts …thank you
Oh dear oh dear Poker personal insults now calling me a coward and pathetic for being brave and giving a very honest view on this stock Tut Tut not professional or informative don’t you think ? Don’t think you have done yourself any favours here …. Have you givin a thought to all the investors who have seen their savings devalue by half or more in the last year ,remember with rising running costs and good people with much less in their pocket to spend on food let alone overpriced food and less to spend on clothes that the worse is still to come for M&S ?IMHO .. I was going to say I’ll invest elsewhere but at the mo very happy holding no stock and making a little every day in several savings accnts.. Fastened your safety belts the recession for retailers hasnt yet begun , Poker would you like a little wager with me on the future of this stock in the next 30 days if higher you win lower I win and the loser leaves town and maybe a shilling on the side ?
OWLS at last an honest person …. and Poker of course you are right on your glowing good news on M&S that why the SP is going down the pan ….not playing ping pong with you on this and don’t have the wish or time as I’ve seen what post
Thanks C11ADDY and Stxx you have just proved my point and still doing defend M and S read other posts not just my opinion but you need to be more honest if you want people to invest in Marks to help cut your losses ….not bash just being honest something has to be said ..and as for you comment it’s easy to do this with hindsight ? twaddle ! been a rubbish investment for 30 years DYR , I have bought and sold it many many times with mixed success
I wonder how low the SP has to drop to before investors here stop posting positive posts day after day after day on one of the worst performers of the last 30 years drowning in increasing debt it’s Mindboggling …and as for Ocado ?lol also as for keeping up with inflation in their food hall OMG I consider myself comfortable off but I only buy a couple of items here ,prices are outrageous even for the quality ..as I’ve said before got out at 160 months ago with a 10% loss on my investment in a few weeks ..
Absolutely no slating from me , I got out at a 160 making a small loss , ,as I have said in previous posts sold everything 20 days ago , Aviva , wood group ,NWG , and almost every day since I’ve saved ( not made ) money and not scared to switch my screen on in the morning ..the 74k I cashed in 20 days a as of now worth65k I would be down a very scary £9000
Ha Chiltin we have found out ! it was better to sell M&S a year ago at 2.50 than to still be holding them today at 120 ?? …no need to wait and see about it !! it’s fact ..like I say our way of trading is very very different , I don’t have the time to play ping pong with you on this so won’t be coming back at you and will be the bigger person and let you have the last say , but you will have to better than the twaddle you have posted recently
Very good Trunky … I truly believe after 30 years trading that cash will be King even if it’s in a 1% savings account or in your mattress , the last 2 weeks I’ve slept so well not scared to switch my screen on in the morning to see how much I’ve lost
Comforting to know I’m not alone OWl ,I did a tally of the 3 stocks I sold Monday 2 weeks past they were. Aviva , Wood group and NWG I put 25k into each and had I not sold I would of lost a staggering £6329 ! this scared be to the point of giving up sharedealing for now happy to sit on cash as I can only see the FTSE going down this is just the start ,maybe looking to reinvest in 2024 ,Before I put you all to sleep another thing I’ve done/doing the paperwork now is Drawing down my pension as I’ve been monitoring it my pot/fund has devalued by almost 10% in the last 3 months and I have got a fixed draw down over 10 years no matter what the market does BTW after weeks of quotes I went with Canada Life a real top payer DYR…Sorry for the gloomy post ,I just feel cash will be King for the next months to come and of course I wish you all every success in your spread of stocks
Chilting I admire you for sticking with this stock but your comments are a bit like saying I think it’s going to rain and one day you will be right but even if m and s double in the next few years which I doubt many people will still of lost thousands ..your approach to sharedealing is very different to mine ,I wish you good fortune and suggest maybe you think carefully and reduce your M and S holding soon as poss buying it back at 99p after all your post nothing changes the fact that I am about 3k better of for dumping my stock in this rubbish company ,you believe this share to rise I don’t ..good luck
Chiltin I never said I needed the cash ? It doesn’t change the fact how much real money I have saved not made in the last week ,also I would mention the word patience on a M and S thread if I were you Patience ! Patience ?? M and S stock was trading at over £4 thirty years ago ,also by your wisdom of it goes up and down how long would it take for you to say you were wrong on a stock and should of sold ?
I disagree , going into cash with 3 stocks I bought 3 weeks ago I put 25k into NWG 25k into Aviva and 25k Wood group I got so sick of it all Monday got 73; 200 back plus dividend of about 1000 so a loss of about 700 had I not I would be down Over 4K so very very happy ..going to earn my money another way not gambling do remember 2 things Chilting I can buy them all back and have 3k in hand also a recession has not yet been declared !! fasten your seatbelt and hold onto your hollyhocks when it does I predicted the ftse to be 5% less in 12 months ,cash will be king Sell ! Sell ! Sell !
Sold all my M and S 4 months ago at a loss saving me thousands on todays price , also sold my NWG at a small profit and sold all my Aviva last week at a loss but covered it with the Dividend ..it’s Friday 26th Aug and I own not one share ,I have been looking at the market and realising how much money I havnt lost in this bloodbath ..I have also pulled all money in my trading accnt out just incase I’m tempted , I’m going to find safer options for my cash for now …and this is pre recession they tell us .. too rich for me I’m out!
Totally Owl ..I got the cold shoulder for saying this a few weeks ago ,I got out at a medium size loss a few weeks ago , phew saved myself a couple of K ..just a boringly bad investment for me over the last 30 years
Hi JJ a 112 per share you must of bought a couple of years ago did you consider selling a year later when they doubled ? Your post just confirms what I said about M and S I feel more people need to be more honest with their feelings on this stock and that’s what I did ! Looking at the performance much better buys out there though a dangerous time with much stormy water ahead ,I wish you well with this stock and your portfolio in general ,regards Pete V
PS do you also have other M and S shares in your port that you paid a higher price for ?? My guess is yes
It amazes me how we see optimistic post after post after post defending the running of M&S and it’s share performance it’s beyond boring thankfully sold out at a loss months ago ,holding mostly in Aviva , NWG , and Wood Group ….happy to buy back into M&S before the end of the month but at no more than £1.20 I hear you all wince even at that I’d be a little nervous and will only dip my toe in the water
