For new or prospective investors18 Aug 2012 12:16
I thought it may be useful to give a timeline of events for Expansys for those who are looking to invest but know little about the company ( seasoned investors of XPS will probably want to give this a miss! ). I'm going to write in bullet form to keep things brief but concise. Here goes.....
July 2010 reverse takeover of Expansys by DSNS and P J Media with a placing of 535million new ordinary shares. This raised much needed working capital for Expansys and the aquisition of DSNS & PJ Media was the 1st stage in their strategy to become a global online technology superstore & provide strong relationships with Network operators. This attracted some high calibre individuals to the board and the placing was supported by some blue chip institutions.
March 2011 - Expansys signed up its 1st major nationwide Sim Card distribution agreement in the USA with T-Mobile (one of America's largest carriers). The USA was and still is an attractive growth opportunity for SIM distribution.
June 2011 - Head office of Expansys moved from Manchester to Buckingham
March 2012 - Contract win by P J Media for the Government of Quatar
April 2012 - New consumer websites launched in Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt & Quatar.
April 2012 - Contract win by P J Media to supply online store for Vodafone Turkey
August 2012 - Contract win by P J Media to supply top-up services to UK prepay cutomers of Everything Everywhere (Orange ), the UK's largest Network.
So, to sum up, Expansys have made transformational changes since 2010 and set the foundations for an exciting future. They have increased turnover from £54m in 2006 to £108m in 2012 and are now profit making (prior to 2012 they had made a loss for the previous 5 years). The SP has been a little volatile, mainly due in my opinion to a combination of factors, poor economic climate, weather conditions winter 2010 affecting pre-Christmas UK trade and some downward pressure on the SP caused by the early exit of some large investors who expected quicker results and didn't want to hold for the long term.
My opinion, those in it for the medium to long term will be rewarded for their patience.
