That's a fair summary Barbon, except that BT has indicated the main trial hearing would most likely not be delayed beyond October. That's the approach typically taken by the Texas court which is otherwise ready for trial. But we must all live with the estimate of the overall litigation timetable given by Nanoco that any appeal process could extend for 2+ years. Not everyone will like to hear that, but with the sort of sums at stake and technical complexity of the case It is fairly unimaginable to me that Samsumg will not wish to appeal the PTAB verdict due in May. The main trial itself which is due in October should not be delayed because of all this but everything does ultimately hang on the PTAB appeal ruling, and any appeals related to the October trial result (my note indicates that the judge's final trial ruling is expected in late 2023), and so none of this will be decidely quickly.

As someone has suggested below this may make new licensing contracts for display somewhat difficult to tie up for the time being.

As for injunctions, which some posters have commented on below, we are told this is not possible in the US. It might be possible in some EU jurisdictions though, as BT has stated. EU wide sales are roughly equivalent in scale to those in the US so it seems this isnsomething Nanoco would wish to pursue.

As far as I am aware Nanoco has applied for an injunction. I have certainly seen that stated somewhere.

I've sold my last, and I shall never to return to this stock. Awful experience.

Cadmium is banned along with other things like Lead (used in the infrared sensors) but there are temporary exemptions in place which will run out eventually (unless renewed). Its all a big political game. Personally I don't trust the EU to get it right!

The trial process is underway, and has been ponging 18 months or so (?) with evidence prep etc.. all complete and now with a slight diversion into the PTSB review where Samsun is challenging the validity of Nanoco patents. The main trial is in October '22, but Samsung won't be able to challenge the validity of the patents in those proceedings. PTAB is huge as after that I believe the case will be more focused on the quantum on damages

True but also the number of claims that do survive and their significance will influence the overall computation of damages. Samsung does have one very big problem if they lose on the basis they infringed key patents for making QD because they then based an entire marketing campaign around a key component that they were not authorised to use. This is what makes me so excited by the potential of this case to end in a very large payout. Samsung did not just rip off some obscure patent which allowed to them to produce a desirable product. They promoted QD as the centre piece of their entire product marketing strategy. It generated a huge amount of sales over and above the competition. It literally carved out a new market.
