I think your probably right. Ian McDonough CEO and Stephen Streater Head of R&D own about 88 million shares between them.
They are never going to be able to trade out of them in the market, so a buy out would be the only way to cash in.
There’s a massive move to the Cloud and there’s lots of money being thrown at the video industry so I’m sure Blackbird are on people’s radar.
Stephen Streater has a history of selling out to the big boys as he sold his last company Eidos to Larry Ellison of Oracle.
However I believe they will be looking for £1+ before they would sell.
DYOR.
You are investing in the future. The industry is going through a revolution, as everything moves to the Cloud. Blackbird has developed their technology over the last 20 years waiting for this move. The CEO, CFO and Chairman have all been buying around these levels so they obviously believe BIRD has a great future. I think current levels are a great opportunity for new investors and for existing investors to top up. Recent sell off is overdone in my opinion and was triggered by Miton and Schroders offloading some of their shares. However I believe that wasn’t due to any negativity around the BIRD, but probably down to limits on investments etc. However most of the shares didn’t trade in the market, but just changed hands. Looks like Canaccord bought over 5 million shares as their holdings have increased to 19.6 million from their previous holdings of 14.5 million. They obviously see a great future as well. DYOR.

So much money being thrown at the video industry.

AVID Technology now valued at $1.35 billion.
It’s makes Blackbird look even more undervalued.
Companies aren’t going to need AVID’s expensive on premise editing hardware going forward.
With Blackbird you can edit from any browser on low bandwidth, allowing you to edit from anywhere on low bandwidth.
The Cloud is the future.
The BIRD is going to become a Unicorn.
DYOR.
Fair enough.
The CEO and CFO don’t think so.
CEO bought 800k shares last week at 5 year highs.
You should also be aware shares are tightly held so not much free float, so when the next big RNS drops this will fly.
IMHO/DYOR.
