We’ve just recovered from a financially deviating banking crisis in 07/08, Brexit is an ongoing nightmare, and everyone in the world is being injected with a vaccine which will temporarily prevent millions of deaths, until the booster, and the next booster, and the next booster … etc. The worst pandemic (economically) since 1918.

You might say … the markets are slightly nervous. China sneezes, the world panics. Or in this case China pays higher for fuel … creates a fuel crisis.

The question is, will next week carry the market drop? What will the Sunday papers be pushing?

The SP went down today because of sellers. The rest of this week is too hard to call.

On the plus side - as long as we’ve had the jabs, we won’t die. Unless we’re unhealthy, got conditions, or ancient.

I would say - if you feel tempted (I don’t) to change your bank to this new challenger, then maybe it’s something to worry about.

If they put in an offer for VMUK then I’d start worrying because that’s them being serious.

At the moment, and going off the current data and trajectory; over the next 100 days we’re looking at a minimum 100,000 hospitalisations and 15,000 deaths. This takes into account that we might be at around 95% 1st dose vaccinated of the over 16’s. That the virus will be rampantly everywhere due to no masks, no distancing, and no new rules and regs brought in from government. Care homes will be in the news again. Slap on flu as well, could be an interesting end of year.

I can’t call the SP. I knew (or rather best guess) it would go down. Retrace inevitable. Worst case I was guessing a retrace to about 36, best case could be 42 (from the 50 high). But I’m only guessing. DYOR

I think UK and US scaling back of hand outs is priced-in because it’s fully expected. Would love to know Lloyds exposure.
