Running a public company is not a ****ING game Braben

Braben needs to wake the **** it and start running this like it’s a public company with other peoples money invested in it. Because he seems disconnected from the fact that some of us are losing an awful lot of money here.

I don’t hear if job losses? Does he think our pension pots are bottomless?!

3 problems:

1) Braben created President role for himself. Citing continued “leadership”.
2) new CEO is a lifer at Frontier.
3) new COO is a lifer at Frontier.

Chairman will be pulling his hair out and quit within 6 months. Or they’re going up for sale within the year because they lack the skills needed to make it into anything new.

It’s not so much the titles aren’t fun, they have an audience, it’s that the titles are released full of problems and then the audience gets rightly ****ed off and review bombs the games. If I go looking for a game to play and I see that people have a tonne of issues, I don’t buy.

Frontier haven’t announced anything to combat the negativity. Frontiers legacy is being destroyed by reckless management.

It would be nice to see some management take responsibility for all the failure.

First Odyssey and its failure, then the lack of console versions, now the failed F1 launch. They take the salary and just sit there laughing while the stock tanks.

The game got review bombed. Yet another release that should never have been released.

What is going on there?!?!

Lloyds Share Dealing don’t recognise the ticker code TBLD. I can buy any other AIM share but can’t see TBLD to buy them …

Oh that’s weird - I thought they were trading in the London stock exchange?

Is there any reason why I’m unable to buy these shares through Lloyds Share Dealing? Have they not done a full public release yet?

Question needs to be asked - how many hangers-on are there at FDEV doing next to nothing and leeching money from the company, and will the new Chairman sort them out and get rid so it can move on and put out some great titles in the future?

Anything over a 4K OLED in most properties will be niche. So the TV market will be saturated soon, if not already. 8K streaming is pointless. Consoles will aim for higher refresh rates (consistent 120 in AAA) rather than going to 8K and above.

If the TV market will struggle in the future. Does that mean CURY will survive selling washing machines, coffee makers and hoovers?

David Gammon has left Frontier as Chairman. His replacement David Wilton is now in post. Wilton was Chief Financial Officer of Sumo Group when it got bought out by Tencent for ~$1.3 billion. Wilton, I’m sure, will have played a big role in that sale.

Funny thing is I dabbled in Sumo before Tencent came in and swooped them up and I couldn’t see what the appeal was. Their last big game Hood: Outlaws and Legends, was a flop. However Sackboy: A Big Adventure released October seems to be the pot of gold and has great reviews, although it’s possibly priced too high right now to penetrate the PC market in greater numbers. That could change at Christmas in the sales.

Anyway …

Frontier needs a big new game. It needs a pot of gold. Is Wilton in Frontier to open up possibilities of a sale. Is he there to help build Frontier into a powerhouse.

I got my fingers burnt when this share was too high and the company was in the wrong hands. The company made some **** decisions and I’ll always be fkn angry that they hurt the private shareholders so badly with the plummeting share price. Hopefully they are in better hands now …

I like the idea that Wilton is there to add value …

Can someone explain how Konfa Games was worth $5.4 million?

TinyBuild never acquired Bossa Studios. TB bought Bossa’s Intellectual Property of several games for a lump sum of a few million quid.

I would love to know which games TM17 are developing themselves as new/old IP, and separate out the games that they are publishing for other devs. It’s really unclear at a glance what value there is in this company. I would also like to know exactly what IP they hold as their own.
