Dodger yes it does seem that way, volatility does appear odd as nothing much really has changed to my eyes at least. What do i know anyway I'm just investing my hard earned cash with good intentions to support businesses that will hopefully continue to provide jobs and a healthy economy in years to come and hopefully make a modest return along the way.
pretty tidy if your a die-hard 007 fan!! http://www.automobilsport.com/cars-tuning--37,211016,Q-by-Aston-Martin-creates-new-007-Limited-Edition-sports-cars-to-celebrate-No-Time-To-Die,news.htm
That is an interesting read, thanks. To varying degrees, we can all fall for confirmation bias – I accept that it is an inescapable condition of being human! A splash of cynicism does well to sharpen the mind’s eye. I have found some great insights on these boards from a range of contributors - that I otherwise would not have come across and I am appreciative of this. I think the one pointer the author may have omitted was to revisit fundamentals when finding oneself distracted by a range of opinions and what ifs. We all invested in this company for a reason - it carries risk but that is relative depending on one’s circumstances. My fundamental is that AM builds cars that people aspire to own and want to drive. The DBX seems to have ticked that box and I am sure that there will be more exciting developments to come given time.
Just caught my eye - more tech related but still interesting nonetheless... https://www.wired.co.uk/article/digital-revolution-airline-industry-shell
just a quick post maybe this has been shared so apologies if 'old news' good to see general trend/steady increase in commercial and noncommercial flights does seem to have levelled during July https://www.flightradar24.com/data/statistics
agreed - topped up today holding for at least this time next year have been surprised to see SP so low again an opportunity for others that missed initial dip
Thank you for sharing Smiler. Well surely the DBX will far exceed sales of the Bentayga - a rather unwieldy lump. From what i gather the chassis of the DBX will be exceptional - it'll pull the pants down off most of this line up.
n1shares/You-know. yes i also see that brand is key ingredient here a big push for DBX will be to grow sales internationally. The brand is known internationally and it will be an aspiration for many. Somewhat of a tangent but interestingly one example I found surprising was only 15-20 Aston Martin cars are sold in India annually. This does seem low (import duty a big factor?) i'm keen to understand more about the growth potential in such markets
smart move long term no brainier don't forget nuclear
recent gvmt report on decarbonisation of transport thought to share in case useful for anyone on this board "The government will need to support transformational R&D and infrastructure investments, the transition of industrial incumbents and new entrants to the market – particularly in areas where there are several potential zero emission technologies" link https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/research-and-innovation-to-support-transport-decarbonisation-2019/position-statement-on-transport-research-and-innovation-requirements-to-support-the-decarbonisation-of-transport
Deelaar. Yep and I for one fancy a holiday next year.
Flybye/Growerson - for those looking long term (5 years+) I agree there is huge potential to invest in this company now. I stumbled upon it through my own research a few months ago (prior to pp being awarded) felt at the time potential overlooked and bought modest stake. Gvmt needs to sell 'brand UK' to wider world - what better way than by advocating game changing innovations like this? Flying ain't sopping no matter what people might say. As I am not a short term speculator would be big mistake to sell this investment too early it's got miles (high!) to go though expect a bit of turbulence on the way!! Found this forum yesterday btw - hello to all and have enjoyed the posts. Cheers !
