Why V1Per ?... CC just posting two posts that many other do over time ... reporting a struggle to buy and some battery park issue
You may not like him, but actually, he seems right rather more than wrong .. which I know is unusual here. And what do you post, moans and calling people idiots .. not seen anything useful from you for a long time
Just saying .. don't like him .. scroll on by !
Thanks for taking the trouble to post @GirlieNextDoor (Sue) at this very difficult time for you and your family. So glad the verse has not offended but perhaps captured a character (as we all saw it and perhaps in private life Paul was too).
I hope you find some measure of peace and comfort that the long struggle is no more and wish you well for the future ... hang on to the shares !!!
Thanks Mikinaman.
Like others I had my issues with Paul, but I never thought anyone one here really felt he was not anything but genuine in his belief. It is just sad he has not lived long enough to (hopefully) see flow batteries and vanadium as mainstream
RIP Paul (Pdub) :-(
Post Dec 25 looking at dividends.
When CC joined V-price was over $40 and not inconceivable to see that over 24 months (that is very solid C/F)
Organic cash solutions other than sales. No secret CC wants out of the energy business. Unless Belco flies will be got rid of.
Biggest risk factor in 2024 - Assume funding issue sorted, Election in SA coming up. Don't know who might win and indeed at the local level. Currently have a great relationship with the local municipality now. Forsee that continuing, but if there is a change in the ruling party this could change.
Another risk is the Barren Dam at Vametco. Currently fully and a new one will start in April (first phase finished Dec). Low production in Jan/Feb is because of the rain filling the dam - greater capacity will markedly increase production.
Leech process (in the value chain) is too low. Must improve it the increase the throughput. There is an external assurance of proposals that will start shortly.
Enormous amount of capital this year (over $20m this year)
Plan to improve SP - 'I mine vanadium' I cannot change the SP. Value comes through wne SPR funding done and demonstrate a few consecutive months of execution on the plan - this will ultimately reflect
Reflecting on the last 6-8 months ... have done the hard yards and taken the pain. The future is very bright (SPR funding done that is).
Clearly the SPR investor default is very exceptional given the binding term sheet and in his decades of doing deals not seen before.
go though of the full rear outline .. nothing not already clear
q1 q1 -25 days and 23 days in q2 factored in for maintenance
vanadium market - sliding pricing. prioritising sales to the higher value markets
robby taylor - interim cfo
reflection on spr deal ... never witnessed anything like this. spr visit aug/sept and they were very excited about a deal. they knew the need for short term bridging finance. there was $8m up front promptly.. binding term sheet showed ow issues on any of the individuals
very detailed weekly review ongoing on the milestones. some slippage (nothing unusual) and binding deal signed on 5th dec.
spr basically lied and lots of bs about 'festive season etc'. on 5th jan got a letter from spr clearly stating it was 'administrative' and funds by 8th jan.
on 9th jan .. 2nd letter and more bs on signatures. not a lot he could have done differently and in all his years and dozens of big deals never seen this.
spr now committed to providing the funds themselves. the $2m is non refundable
--
fall back position if spr default ?
$10.5m by end of feb is expected. exploring other options
penalties ?
monitoring but no, but could seek damages
belco - progress on electrolyte. not a lot more new
bmn into administration date ... if the funding does not happen. exploring other options
cc buying more shares - yes, committed to 4 months salary and will as soon as he could do so. was planning to do this early jan
is there a substantial pile of **** at highfield - no
spr opening highfeld - would take 18 months from start
mokopane supplying highfeld .. up to spr
why is bmn so constrained in jan given the funds received in dec - the $8.1m was used to service long term creditors. over 33% of creditors over 90 days
- so all the breakdown of 'uses' is guff
view on vanadium prices ? where is the competition ? view now is that v-price will rebound over the next few months. some dependence on china rebound
last equity fund raise - is it realistic to expect this. yes. its in writing and acasia funding is expected end feb
how likely is a further fund raise - no expectations
has belco started looking at new investors. yes as bmn looking to take partners on
lemur & cellcude - cellcude signed a agreement with the broker to shortlist potential buyers and they are now soliciting opportunities and early prospectus. lemur - very recently agreement signed with a consortium (just gt bod approval) and depending on certain conditions will sign and update the market.
where is bmn in 24 months ? - assume the 'deal' is done, some assumptions on $/kg, cost etc, will be in a very good position with just incremental production will have noticable and good ebitda - capital covered etc. upside on 2025-base, with a 10% improvement in productions get $20m extra ebitda - more with v-price rises. after the accelerated capex spend there will be solid fcf (mentioned dividends) - vanchem could do 50% more
15% of this might be worth a few quid ...

Good point @Lindon
Also, it is in Orion's interests to not have a default and for BMN to succeed. They are long term players and know it is all cyclic.
I am rather of the opinion that whatever jitters SPR's investors may have felt will rather be soothed by this very substantial completion. It shows that the SA reserve bank had already completed its approvals (despite that not being communicated to the market).
I don't think it should be understated just how significant Orion completing is. I doubt we will be waiting until the end of Feb for SPR and would expect that wrapped up very shortly
