As for comments on PR... still don't think FM has got it ... they need a professional firm to manage the messages. I don't personally think the SP is any concern to FM as he and the BOD have a 2+ year vision before even worrying ... but if we make AIM100 next call they do need to to take more heed ..... our 'new' and uber experienced non-exec should know this !!

unprotected .. so I would expect not .. if it started 4th/5th I would expect it to be over now or sufficient agreement to go back to work.. not in anyone's interest to keep closed ..... but as has been said .. its Africa and the perennial 'hand stuck out' problem. Also... there is already a very substantial amount of cash in the form of Royalty and other payments that are supposed to go direct to the community.. but somehow don't seem to.

I rather sympathize with a better deal but that has to be tempered by the downside of a vanadium price fall. Its all very well paying more in the good times but you can bet no one will want a cut in the bad.. Then there is the wider African problem of paying too much so putting people at risk. Back in the 1960's I was a baby in Uganda where my parents worked for 3 years. They could not pay child minders direct as that would put them at risk as someone else would want the 'job' so different payment in kind means were the order of the day as my parents told me (the accepted way) ... not sure that much has changed looking at how tribal things can get in any number of countries in Africa.

Ramaphosa is trying to wring the changes but his ANC is riddled with corrupt marxists.. be a few years yet before he gets his 100B investment unless his stated aims can be shown to stick. The fundamentals may scream 2,3,4x valuation, but the politics of SA is probably the biggest single reason it is held back right now

the Q2 update referred to an earlier dispute, not the one this week. It is not at all clear that has been resolved yet

good summary Alfa .. using the oft repeated metaphor... we have rounded the first bend of lap 2 with a bit of a stumble.. but many more laps to go.... anyone who has ever watched distance racing knows there are ebbs & flows, the odd feet catching a stumble and sudden moves to get out of the way of obstacles ... This race is only just getting going ...

A lot of store is being placed on the H1 update and we can hope it sheds a lot of detail on what has happened and the revised planning.. but we already have the substantive numbers. In one sense it is Feb next year that will tell us rather more with Q3 numbers

I am encouraged by your last statement and depending a bit on what comes out of H1 and announcements around it I still feel 50+ by year end is possible but getting a bit long as time goes on ... we do only have to look to the expansion (even with a bit of staff trouble and lower grades), the news on Mokopane, lemeur and BE ... 100+ in a year is very possible still

... Its a journey that is not a straight line ... but 2,3, 4 years down the line this will be a distant memory

a tad further out I think LOL ... only scan-read but certainly interesting .. Bushveld now is a way way different beast . All those impatient types just have a read and see just how far FM and his team have taken our collective investment...

don't get me wrong Alfa .. Leasing gives very long term steady revenues (idea for pension fund investment by the way).... now if only we could not sell every scrap of vanadium to steel manufacture of $85/kg ...

Depends what the leasing model will be I guess... but what an easy way to build a very capital rich company with pretty guaranteed revenue steams

@JonnyG .. interesting snippet ... but if I remember the calc Alfa posted on TBP it takes approx 3kg of vanadium per kwh (if memory serves it was 331W/kg) ....

So a rent of circa $20 for vanadium sold at circa $240 ($80/kg) gives a gross return of around 8.3% .. take of the cost of capital, admin etc .. and its not exactly a stellar return

Still, FM has promised to make the future model clear soon so we shall see
