I registered for this. In the confirmation it says "Tuesday, May 26, 2:00 PM CAT ". CAT is 1 hour ahead of UK time currently, so this will be at 3pm our time

I think it was a news article and it is that BESS is 'expected' to be approved next week ... but it is Africa .. so wait for the ink to dry first.

It must come very soon .. even 'imminently' as the clock has been ticking from the World bank well over what they originally expected ... it is essentially 500M of 'free money' and frankly the SA government just needs to get on with it

don't forget that of the bidders, we think (as was demonstrated months ago), that Bushy/BE is the only company that offers well over 50% local content.

In a country rife with unemployment, this is a significant and key factor. It seems to be that giving the whole contract to Bushy may not happen (it is big), but politically would be madness not to give 50-200M of it.

... lots of wider 'african' prospects looking at similar (local content workforce)

A very enticing prospect in any one of a dozen countries carrying a lot more weight than mere 'best cost' alone

You know, although I did find them a bit tedious, I do miss RK's weekly moral boosting list of (just) the main activities, work in progress and potential .... it is 'Africa-time' and we have been a coiled spring a while now just waiting for the cog to turn.... and no reason at all it won't ... just like the military .. Not so sure liquidity is a big problem:
% stock traded last 25 days is 0.425% of shares in issue daily (127 out of 721 on AIM). Only 107 of the FTSE 350 were higher
Also Bushy in top 137 out of 721 on bid-spread

Bid-spreads are higher in general on AIM but that has more to do with the ways MMs can manipulate I rather think. Average volume has rather gone up the past few weeks.... I wonder if that Commodity ETF that brought so much shorting joy may now see this as qualifying soon !

Any company can list on the FTSE pretty much and our current MCAP is no problem for the All-share but add another 10p and would be fine for the F350.

Listing is a BOD choice and will reflect what they see as their priorities. Hence, I don't feel the SP has really figured much in their thinking, but I do agree with the view they would like it higher... although perhaps not until after JSE listing .. is it heresy to point out the obvious that helping grease a few palms with a nice rising price would be useful locally !

@UKSteveG - JSE rules mandate a min of SETS, so to joint list that must be done (and must have been planned for).

Don't agree re FTSE but then I am looking at long term II and Pension fund holders looking for income streams and a lot less volatility.

What are your reasons you think a FTSE move is unlikely (or a long way off) ?

I am not so sure that 'reluctant' is the right word, rather 'indifferent' ... I don't think the listing mechanism has mattered to him that much and he does not seem to have ever been bothered about the manipulation and games. To be fair, to busy building an empire.

And yes... 'aftrica' but also it seems to me to be about perception: a junior small miner of one product situated in a junk-status company with a lot of corruption...... That only changes when the Group becomes seen as an integrated energy storage provider ... so a tech company and not a small-cap miner.

I can only hope that the JSE listing is mirrored by a move to the FTSE. At the very least, we have to move to SETs (from SETsq) so the MM games will still be possible, but a little more difficult. That said, the FCA (et al) don't give a fig about a little manipulation it seems.

oh .. and we sell a lot of nitrovan at a premium ....

so why are companies making no profit valued so highly ....

not formatting ... just a number ... break the calculation down because it just looks made up ... I would expect volume info for each site, a discounted value for the ore asset base, an appreciation of the taxation & beneficiation sums .... you just wire what is a difference between gross sale and cost values and then magically come up with a number ...

OK, current MCAP is £154m according to LSE just now. 1,100m / 154m = 7.14. Current SP is 13.375p according to LSE just now. 13.375 x 7.14 = 95.5p (MCAP was slightly different when I did the calculation earlier)
