Very good news for Highlands Helium reserves!

The US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) held its FY 2019 Crude Helium Auction in Amarillo, Texas earlier today, with the average price rising $160.64/Mscf, or 135%, from the average price of $119.31/Mscf that resulted from the FY 2018 auction.

Would have to go through one by one, Highlands are cutting overheads so would be getting the right guys where they are needed, can find the latest one that is pending for Helios as posted a few weeks I think Substp posted originally!

Paul Mendell name is on most patents and have seen Steve on one, he’s an engineer and that would be needed in WD as True is operator at ED also in Kansas the operator on Barret 1B is Ryan Price as in video!

JJAL if you look most Wells in area they are looking for oil and gas in the Chase Formation, the formation that the massive Hugoton is famous for so not looking for anything else, with the Barret well it is different it hit the zone with high pressure Nitrogen looking for gas and found Nitrogen and was shut in and plugged as wasn’t what they wanted, but we do now, and don’t think there are many companies that find pure Nitrogen in natural formations as big company’s spend lots of money on equipment to extract it and purify from air, so there it is!

Highlands, the London-listed natural resources company, is pleased to announce that gas samples collected from the Barret 1-14B Well in Kansas during the company's flow tests on 21 June 2018 indicate initial nitrogen purity levels over 99.59%.

The analysis has been conducted by Isotech Labs, a prominent independent laboratory who serves the industry across the United States.

By way of illustration of the importance of this result, nitrogen with 98-99.5% purity is used as a preserving agent by food and beverage producers, meaning that Highlands' output could be immediately used in this industry.

So no need for the costs of plant equipment or the energy costs which the industry recognizes as the major cost and impediment of EOR being utilized more!

With 800 acres acquired and a cheap re-completion to assess the potential of Barret 1B (2,581 Mcfpd flowtest), more acreage has been identified and as can be seen from wells within the township there are more potential drilled and cemented wells with just the brigde plug that needs drilling out, the drill rig has been adapted to facilitate the production of a high pressure formation, so with more acreage it’s easy to see the plan and potential!

So testing will be mobilized in September from the 1B well from the presentation on page 12!

Short and medium-term swings in the price of oil obscure the true prospects for EOR, even as both capital and operating costs remain significant challenges. The International Energy Agency and many professionals in the oil industry recognize that the majority of the easy-to-extract oil has been exploited.

For air and nitrogen injections, the biggest investment comes at the beginning, when setting up the plant to take in air or to extract nitrogen from the air and pressurize either for injection. After that, electricity is the major expense, Alvarado explained.

The size of the prize, however, is huge. An estimated 1 trillion barrels of oil may be ultimately recoverable from known fields using EOR, according to Gary A. Pope, a professor of petroleum engineering at The University of Texas at Austin (UT-Austin) and a consultant to the oil industry. And, this number is only for conventionally extracted light and heavy oil fields.

Implementing a CO2-EOR project is a capital-intensive undertaking, even though generally the single largest project expense is the purchase of CO2. Total CO2 costs (both purchase price and recycle costs) can amount to 25% to 50% of the cost per barrel of oil produced. As such, operators have historically strived to optimize and reduce the cost of its purchase and injection wherever possible.

Oil production is separated into three phases: primary, secondary and tertiary, which is also known as Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). Primary oil recovery is limited to hydrocarbons that naturally rise to the surface, or those that use artificial lift devices, such as pump jacks. Secondary recovery employs water and gas injection, displacing the oil and driving it to the surface. According to the US Department of Energy, utilizing these two methods of production can leave up to 75% of the oil in the well.

The way to further increase oil production is through the tertiary recovery method or EOR. Although more expensive to employ on a field, EOR can increase production from a well to up to 75% recovery.

The US Department of Energy estimates that currently there are 89 billion barrels of additional oil trapped in onshore reservoirs. This is in great contrast to the country's current domestic proven reserves, which is estimated at 21.9 billion barrels. The DOE stresses that much of this production could be tapped by implementing EOR methods, namely the injection of carbon dioxide.

In fact, the governmental agency claims that the pervasive application of EOR technologies on US reserves could increase the country's oil recovery from approximately 30% to more than 60%. If this oil was added to the US proven reserves, the country would rank fifth in the world for the size of its reserves.

Abandoned and plugged wells near Barret 1B-14 in area, wonder if Highlands are talking to the operators of these, there’s 1 I can see that is a complete well with TD 6690ft case and cemented but not perf’d or completed, perfect let’s see if this is the plan!

Blue I emailed Eric and asked similar questions to do with Kansas and WD there was little bits of info about the acreage in WD which were acquired from different parties, also When would the leasing campaign finish so more details can be released to market as the identification of the leases on the map (like ED map presentation)
We are keeping quiet until we acquire sufficient acreage – we will definitely let shareholders know in due course.

So similar too what you want to know i have asked, I new what response there was going to be because it’s high quality acreage and you wouldn’t want a second bidder offering more money to lease holders that would be detrimental to share holders/Highlands!

 

JJAL you can’t say I’m the one who keeps people going, maybe that’s a problem if you think that, I post information on here now and again if I can get anything new with research i post, I can see that they are technically good with the key members but it’s paul Mendell who demonstrates the foresight to be a little different/creative than the other operators as they have the big money where highlands don’t, they have to have good contacts/relationship to be able to do this and him and RP does!

The plan is to get a revenue stream from the Barret well as is producing high flow rates of near enough pure nitrogen, and finish the leasing of WD so they can permit the site/wells and implement the funding with partners, True oil sounds a good bet as (have been developing/experimenting the drilling operations together to optimise and cut down on drilling time and money) for WD!

Also would think and as said that additional acreage is targeted in Hamilton Kansas, with further test about to start there!

Yes agree the further wells of ED is unclear but with True now the site operator it could be that True and Renegade will resolve pads 31-34 with still the 7.5% on the rest, lets see!

CO2 is a prospective resource so would be nothing there until Kinder Morgan reignites the “on hold pipeline” which is talked about in RNS as the WTI prices are tracked to the price of CO2!

Helios the brigde plug is going to be drilled out for the Eagle Formation and same with the muddy formation would have thought that after the 3rd plug is opened then they could inject Nitrogen to collect back the gases (Methane, Helium) altogether then separated, no big shock that this is not clear as are in the appraisal/experimental stage!

Well if they are private leases then Highlands will pay mineral rights to them, it’s is a complicated when you get so many beneficiary’s and farm outs partners but this will be cheaper and straight forward being the lease holders, I’m sure Dave said that there could be no royalty’s payed to state if they are private leases!

It’s not going to be clear until lease campaign is finished, that’s the deal then operators are actively seeking!

No other info just from Highlands, could be leases from the Land State Board or from somebody they know, Steve Miller lives close to the position in Arvada, and Paul lower down in Castle Rock, the point is thought that to be connected with big company’s you have to know people, Paul has sold Leases to Conocophillips, Anadarko and is good friends with the guy from Bison oil and gas!
