I think you make some very valid points.
I dont think the management are useless, but, I dont think they have the confidence from tbe markets. And hence (unfortunately) the SP gets played like a fiddle, and is an open goal for short trades. In the short term at least.
More regular news flow/updates would help. Too many 'gaps' of uncertainty.
Dropped 80p in a few days....on the back of what? Absolutely nothing. Shenanigans, shenanigans! And they say market abuse doesnt happen....whatever!
I would expect shorts to pounce on other stocks/sectors i.e. travel, leisure etc. I doubt software companies will be top of their list. Although not an expert...just a common sense view
Any reason to drop the sp is taken advantage of by mm's. Mind you big sell off on equities generally this morning. Asian markets took a bit of a hammering overnight.
Well said Opulentia. Investing normally requires a good deal of patience. If you make money quickly chances are that you got lucky or invested in a volatile share (which can go both ways).
I dont invest 'real money'. I invest my SIPP....that way i can be more patient i.e. longer investment time horizon. I'm mostly risk off atm....mainly because ive done well last couple of years. Only hold 2 stocks now....MCRO and ASC (asos)....happy to ride along with them. But always keep an eye on their updates/developments.
Today was never going to be the 'big' day. The update was just confirming what we all kind of knew.
Judgement day is the presentation on the 30th. It will tell us and the analysts/markets where the business is heading. Cannot overstate the importance of this 'show'. Kind of a pivotal moment imho.
I'm happy to hold and ride it all out. I'd like to think the future is bright....unlike many other companies MCRO should be a little unaffected by Covid etc and this sector should be a good area for investment.
treeshake in the run up to the update? This share sure does test ones patience!
Think you need to chill out Nuri. Long, short or whatever....you, like me, have no clue how the SP will respond in the coming weeks. So just take a seat and enjoy the ride....no point in getting bent out of shape about it
Skullduggery.....hmmmnn ??
CEO sells earlier in the year at a high price, then puts in a token buy now at lower SP. Way oversold imo. Just usual market fun and games. I'll be holding for the medium term for sure
Sometimes the market makes no sense and you have to be patient and ride it out.
Happened with Capita earlier in the year. Was winning new contracts and benefitting from remote working/greater use of technology...but languishing at 30p SP. It has climbed up to 50p.
MCRO will have its day. Although i must say that one problem is the infrequency of updates from the company. The gaps between these let MMs etc have their play time. Even the financial calendar on the MCRO website is not up to date. Bit poor really.
Nuri
IAG has £10 billion of debt and operating in a half closed industry. Major cashflow problem about to hit them smack in the face.
MCRO has less than half that debt, operating in a growth and flourishing industry. FCF and paying dividends.
Think that puts things into perspective...
Selecta
Yes the recent performance of MCRO share price is a little disappointing, but to put it into context I suggest looking at Asos (ASC).....now you'd be really disappointed if you had invested there 6-9 months ago....or 3-4 years ago.
Different sector obviously....but a good example of how fickle the market can be, and how quickly things can change....both ways!
Absolutely agree...capita in good shape. And before you all shout me down....good shape compared to others! Rest of this year and possibly into 2022 likely to be positive for equities. But i would note a word of caution...yes lots of governments and CB's pumping money into the system. But be careful....someone has to pay the price for Covid. Not advice of course....just wanted to give a balanced view.
Equity markets are in sell off mode atm. So important to put some context on MCRO instead of people just bashing it up!!
Calm down everyone. Us pi's will never find the top or bottom....and if you do its luck. Just stay patient. Just remember why you invested in the first place....going into 2022 the market sentiment will change on MCRO. Lots of unloved stocks will come back into favour....overvalued other stocks will flip the other way when the financial impact of the last 15 months is bourne out in actual numbers....not sentiment.
SP was 500p only ten days ago. No dramas as far as i can see. Will hold....long term play for me.
Patience required. As you say there are stocks out there with hugely inflated SPs and are exposed to a lot more risks than MCRO. The tide will turn though.
