Once again, you seem to be letting your enthusiasm get ahead of reality :

RegTech (like 'Industry4.0') is a generic term , see https://www.investopedia.com/terms/r/regtech.asp.

Every man and his dog(flea-infested or not) has a 'regtech'.

The conference you mention has as its THEME 'regtech' , but is organised by JWG Group

On a quick skim, I saw no reference to either SYME (maybe an attendee?) or more surprisingly Quadrivio, if this was THEIR baby....

You seem to have an unfortunate habit of making connections that aren't - on the face of it - there.

You may be interested to learn that - as part of his 'tidying up' - he's just (31/12 2020) applied voluntarily to have SupplyMe Capital Limited struck off.

This company was incorporated in October 2019 as SupplyMe Capital "Limited "and in May 2020 [ie just post RTO] changed its name to its company number 12250088. And now , it is no more.....

Meanwhile, the company we all know and love - SupplyMe Capital "PLC" - you'll be glad to know continues its merry way.

Any confusion in names would I'm sure be quite unintentional, I'm sure : though I used to see Calgete toothpaste on the shelves when I worked overseas.

He's a great , enthusiastic communicator (amazing, actually, considering English isn't his first language), active in the Fintech community for ages, regularly appears at conferences in Italy where he should be able to 'sell' a brilliant but complicated concept - in their own language - to people who not only speak Italian, but 'speak fintech' too ...;->

This is the 5th wheel ! How come none of his technical peer group appear to 'get' it ?

He didn't even pick up an award for innovation at the recent conference where his own NED Camerinelli was events organiser, for heaven's sake. That's surely a missed 'open goal' .

Industry 4.0 was launched with a €300m target in January 2018 and held a €100m first close in October 2018. Its final close is expected in the second half of 2021, the GP told Unquote. The fund invests in SMEs operating in the manufacturing industry, with high potential to grow further via digitalisation and automation, and able to generate annual revenues of €50-150m.

The issue : Per RNS 22/12, we were told that .."The Quadrivio fund "Industry 4.0" will invest in and capitalise the Captive Bank."

Simplified : AZ says he expects to have the Captive Bank up and running and working with the 'Inventory Funder' v soon, in Q1.

Quadrivio itself (you know , the people supposedly delivering on AZ's timetable) said that they themselves expect to raise funds during H2, 2021.

I'm all ears if you can explain this inconsistency - that's what bulletin boards are supposedly about - which has come from the horse's mouth.

On the face of it, AZ is talking from the horse's other end.

Maybe things have changed in the intervening 4 weeks ? But Quadrivio's been our Strategic Partner since the Captive Bank RNS in September......

If you can't explain, feel free to forward to SYME IR and ask them to clarify.

'Industry4.0' is a generic concept, Rothschild's glossy is dated Q1 2020, ie before SYME's RTO.......so doesn't pass a basic 'common sense' test.

Quadrivio has the head of ' young CBI ' - the Italian employers' federation and national chamber of commerce - on its board.

As you point out , the 'network effect' on its own portfolio development (the Made in Italy and Industry4.0 Funds) has been limited.

This may be because Quadrivio hadn't yet - as at Nov 2020 - raised all the funds it needs to make its planned investments.

- costs agreed in principle higher than agreed by prev Chinese partner in 2016;
- costs to be agreed $ 6m mostly 'senior management costs'......
- developer's fee (reward) needs sign-off by EDM
- acquisition fee to be paid by CMEC linked to tariff agreement, submitted last March
- EDM feedback re market outlook and updated feasibility study ('walkthrough' last mid-Dec) hoped for end Jan or mid Feb, target is 'this Q'
- 'most advanced coal power project in region' adds to credibility, as does support from China; positive Chinese approach to debt finance; Letter of Interest from Sinosure re political risk insurance;
- progressing EPC contracts re mine, power plant and transmission, hopes to have more to report around Chinese New Year Feb 2021.

There's never been any shortage of potential customers (reservations re accounting aside) , so the 'network effect' of Confindustria is a 'nice to have', but hardly a game-changer.
The sticking point has always been - and continues to be, AFAICS - funding.
Sort that out in a credible and sustainable /scaleable way and SYME is in with a chance.

At the very least, SYME should update the market re outcome of call option.
It's basic housekeeping...and ironically, if SYME were on AIM, the NOMAD would make sure this happened.

Unfortunately, it mentions 2 x mines , in 2x areas - Africa and (curiously, perhaps) Australia.
It then mentions Simandou and , again , Western Australia.......

Not clear how ‘diversification of supply ‘ is achieved by doubling down in Oz....
