Their share price has halved in 2 weeks and are now looking at huge staff layoffs. I doubt they'll be writing multi million pound cheques anytime soon.
Funds will flow to those who show good management footing and low risk operations. It’s no time for funding to be put into high risk investments. My forecast is that VLS will go into shut down mode, citing the current economic situation as the main driver. As it’s a listed company, I’m not entirely sure how they’d do that however!
Stokey. Thanks for the comments. I don’t disagree with your comments. My angle is the amount of time that will now be needed to advance the project and the changes in priorities for stakeholders. The question, should there be continued delay, is if VLS has the funding to keep its head above the water. The F4C won’t be handing out funding unless agreements for match funding is in place and I worry that such 3rd party funding will not be forthcoming at this time.
The COVID outbreak might be the final nail I the coffin for VLS. Funding from IAG won’t be forthcoming and I doubt Shell will be digging deep as the focus won’t be on environmental topics for some time and its clear they are only in this for the PR. That said, given the lock down and the fact that VLS doesn’t have any revenue anyway, maybe the company will just be put on ice for a while and restarted when things blow over? What are people’s thoughts ?
Sharing of services and process waste treatment adds significant value. The ideal place for a project like VLS’s is slap bang in the middle of an existing oil refinery, such as Philipps 66 up the road, but I doubt that would ever happen. Being on a site fully cut off, will make the project too expensive, so the fact that they are looking g outside their fence for opportunities to share services is a good thing. Bit late in the day tho.
By may last calculations following the previous share issue, the company would have run out of money by the end of Feb. Clearly that is not the case so can anyone shed any light on how VLS is still operating at this time?
Id argue these two particular heartbeats are more audible that the majority associated with the planning process. If they are not careful, they'll be flat lining soon unless they get this sorted.
There is a long list of outstanding items to address before PP is considered. An early April date has been requested by Highways England to give them tie to assess traffic issues, however that date does not mean PP will be granted at the same time. Could be earlier....
proven on paper. not in practice unfortunately. As inferred, you're not up to speed with this stock, so suggest you do your homework before throwing out inaccurate statements.
Of course they are buying the stock. Its a great idea and if you're in for the short term, will bank nicely. Unfortunately, it'll probably remain as just idea for the foreseeable future.
