Even the UK are media are finally seeing that omicron is milder. In Australia they are using Omicron as a kind of natural vaccine an approach other countries might adopt.

Any tightening is just tweaks I'd be very very surprised if the govt go any further - but lets see.

Each day the number of un-boosted adults is getting less by a million or so give or take and if SA is anything to go by this variant is a narrow wave which may indicate that there won't be sufficient numbers to cripple the care system.

Bonkers0801 the grant in my mind is mostly due to the impact the media is having with this new variant. I think if the data shows that the omicron variant reduces hospitalisations , and deaths I can't see even a mini lockdown IMHO, due to the message that would send about vaccination (i.e. why vaccinate to break the lockdowns, when the high level of vaccinations and still we lockdown.

If the wave in the UK with better vaccinations amongst the population is anything like SA it could be over very very quickly.

chilston - if dreamachine posts are anything to go by he does seem concerned that the vaccine progammes are working, and cinemas are still popular after all this time.

Personally there is one sure way to increase the popularity of something, restrict it. I believe 2022 will be a bumper year.
