MP of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc Mohammed Shaker, Saturday, that the legislation of the oil and gas law will be a comprehensive and radical solution to all problems in the management of the oil file, pointing out that the political blocs are determined to legislate the law as soon as not postponed as happened in previous sessions.

Shaker said in an interview with Alsumaria News, "The oil and gas law is an important and very necessary laws to regulate the process of dealing with oil wealth in the provinces and the region by the federal government," noting that "Article 112 of the Constitution referred to how to address the file of oil management in the provinces Producing and provincial legislation by law for this matter. "


Shaker added that "the law was supposed to legislate since previous sessions, but the differences of views and differences prevented the realization of this caused the lack of legislation until the moment," pointing out that "the legislation of the law will be the root and final solution to all problems related to the management of the oil file, which has become all Political blocs are fully convinced of it. "

Shaker stressed, "The political blocs are determined to legislate the law as soon as not to postpone it, as happened in previous sessions."

Russian oil producer Gazprom Neft has increased the production capacity of its Sarqala Field in Iraqi Kurdistan by 25% by launching a third production well, the company said April 4.

The cumulative daily oil production at the field has reached 35,000 barrels.

Gazprom Neft plans to produce 1.2 million tonnes at Sarqala in 2019, of which its share will reach more than 0.5 million tonnes.

The company participates in two projects in Iraqi Kurdistan, at the Shakal and Garmian blocks. Garmian includes the Sarqala Field.

Gazprom Neft has 40% in the Garmian Block, the Kurdistan government owns 20%, and Canada's WesternZagros has 40%.

Last year the company said it was in talks with Repsol about joint projects controlled by the Spanish oil major in Iraqi Kurdistan.

KRG VIPs will have GKP shares , doubt anyone will get Shaikan cheap. They treat retail like mushrooms but we aren't stupid.

Its a scandal that our chief Strategic Officer has his expenses paid by the KRG

If this doesnt show a conflict of interest what does ?

So he gets appointed last August then has his business trip to Kurdistan this January ( just shortly before announcement on SA and BB blocks ) paid by KRG!

Lets remember that he has an interest also in Genel Energy PLC who also have a 40% interest in Ber Bahr

This isnt the only time he was paid for his travel by KRG as i found they paid for a previous visit nov 2013

On Pesto the other day, wearing his 'I'm a businessman' hat, rather than his 'I'm a scientist' one (see NewsNight) he claimed to have done corporate deals all over the world. I wish Pesto had asked him to name one that was successful and down to him, rather than his father. He was charged with selling an asset to help Afren. Epic fail. He was advising Talisman before they let shareholders down badly. Epic fail. He was involved in the Archer charity concert which was self-promotional and seriously dodgy, and of course the unsuccessful Archer mayoral campaign. He mentioned on his PPC statement when trying to get elected in Stratford, having failed elsewhere, he'd raised millions for the Kurdistan region. How much of that did the ordinary folk of Kurdistan see? Epic fail. He let a business partner in Leicester take the hit on a failed business.

Has he achieved anything in the oil industry, ever, that benefits anyone other than himself?

He will not impress anyone in Berlin worth their salt. He has no value to add. A vacuous blow-hard.

thanks to Straycat's research and sharing it here, I think the share in treasury mess has being cleared up, nothing to do with GKP being dodgy, they are just following the rules.

55 k a day is too tempting for a MOC , this minnow will be gone as soon as HCl is done.

on the 25th GKP bought 128,830 shares

3 months and 12 days in between the AB FDP being signed off and the field being deemed unsaleable !!! Then, shortly after ISIS were seen off it is sold.

It was the AB write down that was suspect . Only SZ knew about it as he was at Parabis bank who did the 1st Bonds for Sothick after the CC . One minute MOL were saying 30 k a day is on the cards then 3 months later it was a basket case and non commercial . Two different parties had refinance options and JF wouldn't even entertain a meeting so I have been told . Was the KRG not liking it ? One of those was with Saudi's.

Refinance or renegotiate , PMO are just paying it back later 2021, the BHs make more on interest .

SZ arrival quickly led to the securing of the notes.

Just spoke to Gkp investor relations and they say no dividends will be paid to shares held in treasury. Can someone put this on Lse and Twitter.
We can then see what all thoughts are.

What have the BODs done to warrant anymore bonuses ? A child could sell the most sought after oil field after all . Anyone with enough cash could have some production wells drilled and ESPs fitted. This BODs are a joke.
