The world’s biggest electric vehicle (EV) battery maker CATL is looking at two locations in Mexico for a manufacturing plant to supply Tesla and Ford.

According to Bloomberg, the Chinese battery giant is considering Ciudad Juarez, in the state of Chihuahua, and Saltillo, in Coahuila – both near the Texas border.

Ciudad Juarez could be a goer, since its close to a port of entry into New Mexico and it would be relatively easy to reach Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin from there.

The company is also reportedly looking at an investment of as much $5 billion in the project and is even considering a split between two countries, with one battery factory in Mexico and one in the US.

He’s from Porsche and the Taycan is a big hit (their best seller), EV revolution is not going to stop because Diess steps down.

Elon Musk has called for more investment in global lithium refining to ease shortages in battery materials — and promised those who seize the opportunity it’s as lucrative as “basically minting money.”

If you value the existing 27% of Amapa at £24m based on the $24m estimate for 22% ($109m for 100%) and Sonora at zero that gets you to £39m (~23p) with our other assets assuming £5.1m HAS deal closes.

Value Sonora >0 and something good happens with EMH, Evergreen or HAS (post deal) then there is a lot of upside from 23p.

Yeah, the MRE revision is obviously going to benefit the project, must be good news coming from that to give an improved the NPV in the PFS. A higher grade would be nice, Anglo previously said 68% was possible and 6.5 Mtpa which would be a big deal. Slide 10.
