BERLIN (Reuters) -German luxury carmaker Daimler AG wants to manufacture its own battery cells, Business Insider reported on Tuesday, citing company sources.

Daimler struck a deal to buy lithium-ion battery cells from Farasis Energy in 2019 and the Chinese-American supplier had intended to build a factory in East Germany to help the Mercedes-Benz maker ramp up electric vehicle production.

But the plant has not yet been built and there were issues with the initial cell samples, Business Insider reported citing company sources, prompting a change of heart from Daimler Chief Executive Ola Kallenius.

Business Insider said it was unclear whether Daimler wants to manufacture the battery cells on its own or with a partner.

A spokesperson for Daimler declined to comment.

Last month, Daimler intensified its partnership with Chinese battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) as part of plans to speed up electrification.

Yes indeed, the court is pending a decision which could be the one we've all been waiting for. Would expect the decision to be within the next few days, sometimes it has been a bit longer.

Serra do Navio City Hall installs a manhole with iron pipes on the road that gives access to the Municipality
Last week, Amapá's City Hall and the State Department of Transport, with the support of Ronaldo da Zamin, Mina Tucano and Serra do Navio City Council, carried out the installation of a manhole with iron pipes, in the stretch located in front of Comunidade do Vaca , on Highway AP 140.
The work will ensure accessibility for people, vehicles and facilitate the flow of water from one side of the highway to the other. During the execution of the works it was necessary to interdict the stretch.

The first half of this year is being marked by numerous earthmoving actions throughout the city.
