T72, agree, the results are no worse than expected under the operating conditions this year. The delay in the handover is a not unexpected nuisance but will happen and when it does everything will start to fall into place (handover sometime during November????) It is obvious from the RNS that contracts/customers will progress on completion of handover .
The X factor is the TZ gov. Tanzania is pretty desperate for a reliable and substantial energy supply, coal is the answer, the need for coal isn't going away. The coalition for energy supply will need a reliable source from all the suppliers TZ will need to make a move in that direction.

PS to my post, depending on market reaction I will look at this as an opportunity to grab a few before what will happen on the handover. We are nearing the intended goal after what seems a millennium

Sadly the interims have confirmed what a certain Diggerman posted, I would imagine he is saying "I told you" . When EDL didn't refute what he was saying, there had to be something in it.
This is just another in the long list of delays due to to dealing with the TZ gov.

Off topic, the update on the Rufigi hydropower project is claiming that the dam wall will be built in the next year, turbines installed and producing power in 2022.
If they succeed that would be some miracle.
Etheopia's hydro scheme on the Nile has been on the go for a lot more years and it will take several years to fill to capacity.
If Tanzania succeed they will have a 2 thirds saving on costs and time, that would be some going for a company that has never built such an engineering scheme.

Aerial I've just got back in and seen your post.
The recent news releases have been the most positive yet and based on their current activities it is plain to see where we are going, others do not want to see that.

It is obvious some larger investment will be needed if they are to supply a power plant, and increase the commercial sales.
At this moment in time meeting their current production targets is the first objective and the next week may just throw some light on that.

I'm not sure what todays trading was all about but the bid has held up which points to a good week next week, only time will tell.

Strange you should say over capacity of hydro power in Zambia with the severe shortages due to drought so they are looking at wind and solar to replace their hydro power. They are in the power pool for a reason and it's not to sell power at this moment in time due to the failure of their hydro power.

If I remember right, the sole purpose of developing the Rukwa coalfield was to provide fuel for the power project, they were not given permission to sell outside of that although that did change.
If Diggerman can explain where the power to supply the power pools is to come from with a convenient substation at Sumbawanga I will be all ears!

You've now gone from intimating that EDL is a failing mess to declaring it a fantastic company.
Fantastic it may turn out to be the near term returns might be better described that way, as an opportunity to recover ten yrs of investing.
