Mr Rubio said: "I'm not going to set any conditions on what they have to or need to do. I think we want to listen to see how far they're willing to go and then compare that to what the Russians want and see how far apart we truly are.

I keep reading these false wishes to stop the killing and end to war, because I have't seen any evidence from one member here who was desperate for peace last year and continued to call for it. It never happened until they knew Trump would get back into power, knowing the sp would rise, which it did.

Many talking through their pockets here, all thinking peace will be easy, and convinced it will prevail.

Trumps mutterings about peace did not sound convincing, as good as said if he doesn't get what he wants, that's it. And we all know Zelenskyy isn't doing any deal without security.

It is so easy to see next week will be a mess, can't believe no-one else sees it.

Lavrov said just yesterday he was not interested in a ceasefire. Trump today has said he is strongly considering banking sanctions and tariffs until a ceasefire is reached. Oh dear! The love-in may well end next week.

I think next week will go worse than last Friday. Russia and U.S at each other's neck next week.

A very messy week coming methinks!
