Novel nanoparticles24 May 2018 23:19
Might be a red herring, but I can see only 1 employee at Nanoco who mentions Novel Nanoparticles in their linkedin profile. Might provide a pointer as to what these actually are...?:
"I manage an R&D team that has grown to up to 6 material scientists with a strong focus on developing synthetic routes to heavy-metal free colloidal quantum dots for displays and lighting applications. Recently our field of research has expanded to 2D materials.
My team is also working in the area of nanoparticle design for photovoltaic applications and developed novel large-scale synthesis methods for a range of colloidal CIGS and CIS (copper indium gallium di-selenide/sulfide, copper indium di-selenide/sulfide) nanoparticles that can be deposited economically using conventional printing techniques. This work has generated a significant number of patents.
Between 2012-2017, I was also responsible for setting-up and managing the company's new analytical team which provided analysis support for product development. The analytical team carried out analysis of samples from various departments within the company, developed and implemented analytical methods for nanomaterials and was responsible for calibration, cleaning and servicing of the analytical instruments. Analytical techniques include fluorescence and UV-vis spectroscopy, FT-IR, TGA, GC-MS, ICP-OES and GPC."
