JFK8, in this market (AIM), where MM’s make the market and control trading, a buy is when an investor/trader purchases shares from an MM and a sell is when an investor/trader sells shares to an MM. Usually the only direct investor to investor trades are during an auction, where buyers and sellers are matched at a clearing price.

Not quite sure why there is any question is about. The 554k trade at 11:56 is clearly a buy. They often cancel the trade and put it straight on again, to add some confusion. As Jimzi said, shares are being taken from PIs who are in profit and traders who are impatient for the next move up and sold to big/institutional buyers.

Seems like we are in a similar place right now to a few months ago in terms of the trading action and MM tactics. If you include the delayed reported 45k buy we’ve had more buying volume than selling volume reported so far today but we have a bid that’s been dropped 1p/3%+, and in fact the MM’s even dropped the ask pre-open. This follows on from yesterday where we had more buying than selling and also ended up down.

There’s a big buyer(s) out there too today. A 100k buy just reported, to go with a 75k earlier. Then there’s 9 buys at 40k plus, most of them 50k plus. Much more buying than selling today, including at the big volumes.

It’s worth reading the Business Combination Agreement RNS from early July. Mkango will own shares in the new SPAC listed entity MKAR. At present the indicative valuation of these shares is $400m. Mkango will therefore own a majority (currently large) of the US listed assets, 80% of the global recycling business ex-USA and 40% of the US recycling business (without having to fund it).

Yes, if the listing values Mkango’s shares at $400m (or potentially more) then if Mkango remains valued at in the region of $150m-175m on AIM then it will be an obvious takeover target. You could say that it already is. The Board could also just decide to list the Mkango parent company on the NASDAQ as the value disconnect would be so obvious. As we’ve all said, we think the recycling business is more valuable than Songwe/Pulawy, and if you look at the comparative value comps with US listed peers (including those that are pre-production) that Myles has done, you can quite easily get well north of a billion for the whole business, even at this stage.

Yeh looks like they are fishing Bonker, and using the usual tactics of delayed reporting, wide spreads and dropping the bid on little/no selling. There have been plenty of big volume buys today, including the 75k, though they haven’t been reported as buys of course. Always got to ask yourself why certain tactics are being used by MM’s. For me the reason is pretty clear.

It’s not scheduled as such, the company set themselves a deadline of end of year, and have linked this deadline to management RSU’s (share incentives). It has never been scheduled for September, and there has been no delay to date in terms of the listing. With the BCA signing at the start of July some on this BB (including me) have guesstimated late November / early December based on research around normal timeframes from BCA signing to SPAC listing date, but no formal timetable has been announced, other than the by the end of year self imposed deadline.

The Nasdaq listing is just one of a whole host of catalysts for the share price, and many of these are much nearer term than the listing is.

If you read this Bb regularly you will have seen the list, but most of these relate to developments with Hypromag and its roll out across the world. Everyone agrees that the recycling business is where most of the value and potential lies as it is low cost/energy, modular and scalable, allowing it to act as a solution to the challenge of secure local RE magnet supply chains in various countries/regions e.g. Japan, South Korea, India, Canada.

I have no doubt that we will get at least one piece of company news this month on some front and potentially multiple pieces. Have a look at the number of RNS’s we have had this year and you will get the idea.

Then there are all the industry/macro factors, government support and strong sentiment for the share and the sector. I certainly wouldn’t be betting on this as a top, imo it’s much more likely to be a base. Time will tell, and I think the big buying will continue.

Yeh it’s 37.5p to match the ATH close, which we had two days in a row back in November 2021.

From its time stamp it looks more like a sell. But at the same time the share price started the day at 35p, so it could be a worked buy throughout the day/the preceding day, which was responsible for the rise.

Yep, looking strong first thing. Definitely delayed reported buys in the background.

Yeh, watched this on Thursday evening. They purposefully didn’t go into too much detail about the five companies when compared to the one on one interview with JT the day before, but it was still very encouraging listening to it. As always JT comes across confidently and I particularly liked the bit where he reminds people that he has invested $50m of his own money in Cotec. That is conviction!

Exactly as Finton says. A major investor building a stake has the potential to spike the price if they don’t do it carefully. If it was confirmed that an institutional investor was building a stake, do you think that they’d be getting any selling volume at all at this level. People would make them pay more for the shares. The big buyer(s) went a bit hard the other week when relentless buying throughout the day took us up from 31.5p to 38p before dropping to close just above 35p. I think they have learned their lesson and are taking bite size chunks and turning the taps off when things get too overheated.

There are clearly some sellers at this level as Finton says, which is understandable if they are slicing from 6p. But we reached a new all time high intraday high on Friday at 39.5p (mid price) and an all time high trade price (40p buy). If we can close above 37.5p we would beat our ATH close from November 2021. So I can understand some selling at this level, but once resistance is broken it’s blue sky and price discovery mode as others have said, so those sellers could be regretting the decision in short order.

So many short term catalysts, such a great macro backdrop and fantastic sentiment for both the company and industry as a whole make mean we have every possibility of breaking this last bit of resistance and heading into uncharted territory in the very near future.

About to get on the flight. Bid has strengthened on L2 and they’ve widened the spread to 2p. We’ve seen this before, good sign.
