I don’t see a MBO on Tuesday. And on the highly improbable event there is one, I’d struggle to see it any less than 170p given offer last year - and - that many large shareholders remain underwater - they won’t consent with associated dilution. This isn’t a computer game it will move at a more realistic pace.
Thanks Canary : very well put. I would agree that under the surface re-wiring and patterning has been and is underway… and realising a level of impatience in my (never good on investments) for it to be reflected in SP. Good Comms on this update is what I am seeking : not bluster or blaming the market. Just good Comms and transparency.
I would think market has also priced in the historic overpromise and underdeliver nature of updates; be it performance or strategy implementation. Ergo something boring demonstrating meaningful progress and future timeline might go down extremely well. // very separately I’m starting to think it would be good to see nutrition : I wonder what it would fetch? Who’d acquire. Must be worth SP alone (and some).
And dead today
Interesting how this will play out and good to see some challenge. Business needs to tighten up
Busy in Camden yesterday.
The concern with Q4 was it was tee’d up as being +ve in previous RNS and then flunked. They must have known this was going to happen… numbers on sales are live. And if they didn’t know that’s obscene. Complete roulette on Comms from THG. And a shame
On results… we’ve in the main been let down in the past as there’s been over promised and under deliver on both performance and strategy. Q4 results and example. I am so wanting that to change BUT what is the catalyst? Lord Allen hasn’t been instrumental yet (tho we don’t know what rewiring he is up to) activist investors maybe have air time BUT do they have influence? I am so wanting a better update than history suggests BUT I cannot point a progression that confirms this will be the case. I guess this is the first time the individual BUs report on performance BUT it’s not even certain that is what THG will release. I’m holding and wanting for better 200p is a win for me… anything above e/o.
If anyone passes / pops into a Waga or Brunning pub over Easter pls may you share how busy / not so busy it is? Esp interested outside of London. Tah
Wagamama out there on its own … in terms of offer … I’d like to the good acquisition… esp for international expansion/ licensing…
Hoping it bodes well for general interest inc. RTN!
I think there is a gap between (a) seeing value and (b) being able to act on it.
(a) appears to be closing on multiple fronts but it is for THG to primarily push the door. (b) fully closing it by action : read big share buys and or buyout isn’t something THG / we are in control of : it’s relative to other macro moving parts >> my view here (as a complete layman) is macro isn’t great but it is getting better and THG might be cheap and/or good exposure to upside when current clouds clear.
AGM in May… annual report out (yet to read fully)… may prompt some action from Oasis? Separately, now is the time we find out if the hedging for energy was worthwhile : I must say I thought it was sensible when taken out at the time.
