Let's imagine Jeff Bezos announcing that Amazon is going to trial a new integrated approach to tackling Covid, with the logistics bit handled by Amazon and an innovative treatment provided by an excellent British company - Synairgen. Amazon share price would go through the roof! :-)

What green companies has PNPL invested in? Are they looking at lithium and vanadium (for batteries)? If so, they should snap a chunk of ZNWD and BMN: these two companies have been growing steadily and have a huge future.

Yes, when a short is closed, it is effectively a buy trade. But that's beside the point. I was simply pointing out that a bet doesn't affect a football game,vwhereas a short does affect the market (at two points in time, as you rightly point out).

No, I haven't ignored anything. I'm simply saying that a bet doesn't affect the result of the corresponding football game, whereas a short affects the market because a "physical" sell trade is executed when it's taken out.

Shorting is different from betting on football games: in the latter, your bet does not affect the result, whereas a short drives the price down.

Their phase 2 trial was expected to start in Q2 of 2021. Mit sure they will go ahead at all: their IP protection section says "patent pending". I think they are well behind the curve.

There's definitely plenty of interest today: we're on track to crack 5m shares traded today (plus whatever shorts Citadel decide to take out or close).

Indeed. One additional important point is that data for patients recruited earlier is already available, and I suspect it has already been looked at to some extent (of course in a way that doesn't invalidate the double-blind nature of the trial). The initial data for the last patient (the one recruited yesterday) will be available in a fortnight, and full analysis will then go ahead.

However, I expect they already know SNG001 has worked well on that cohort, and that's why Prof. Holgate was so confident in his recent interview.

My view is that the longer the company remains under the radar the better for value creation: speculation by short-termers is reduced and we may have another magic day where the SP multiplies on announcement of the US emergency approval.
