I'd be very happy with an MRE within that range, knowing that the potential for future increases - from the step-outs - is there. I believe that both GGP and Newcrest are interested in getting the initial MRE done asap. It is in GGP's interest because it reduces the risk considerably and puts the company in a different category (at least as far as investment funds are concerned).

Even if Newcrest made an early move to acquire the rest of Havieron right after the initial MRE, Gervaise and Callum have enough data and experience not to sell it on the cheap.

I do expect some impatient holders here to sell when they don't see 15-20Moz straight away but that is bound to happen on every good piece of news anyway (as it did after the last RNS).

I get my dose of excitement from your Paddysat posts, so I'm keeping strong. Thanks a lot for all that research!

The last sell was at 2.70p, so we may still get an uncrossing trade a bit higher. The close should have been at 2.75p. Either way, it bodes well for tomorrow!

To change the topic and let poor Reep off the hook: take a guess at what the uncrossing trade will be today. I reckon we'll finish the day at 7.90p and the the UT will take us to 8.075p or 8.10p.

I missed Topi's shenanigans but I gather he had been ramping this like crazy before disappearing (forcefully or willingly). No need for ramping here: let this play out slowly (relatively speaking) but steadily. The share will not go to a pound overnight but the prospects are excellent. This is still a junior company, hence the opportunity but also the risk.

The clue is in the name: RUShing to SELL.

Just kidding, no offence intended. Everyone can take their own decisions. But I do remember Russell doing the talking down then buying in and immediately switching to the ramping mode on many other shares.

It looks like there's a lot of churn at 2.50p - 2.60p. I expected the placing price to provide a support line but I can see that the new launch pad is a bit higher now. Onwards and upwards!

I think they expect these warrants to be exercised for two reasons:
1) Some 38m warrants are subject to the 'accelerator' clause that requires them to be exercised with a short period of time when the VWAP remains above 3p over five consecutive days. The BOD know that the upcoming news will drive the SP well above that level.
2) It is very likely that the holders of these warrants participated in the placing last Thursday and indicated their intention to exercise the warrants, so the BOD decided to go for a block listing to speed things up. Perhaps the other 25m warrants mentioned in the block listing RNS are similar: the holder(s) had already told the BOD they intended to exercise them soon.

Looking at the essential requirements for such a research trip: we need to make sure that Paddy has a few barrels of the black stuff (I don't mean oil) to keep him hydrated in the Australian desert. I'm not sure what Magic's favourite beverage is though. Magic: what are you partial to?

Has it occurred to anyone else that Magic might actually be Callum Baxter himself who has grown so fed up with all the "can't say this, can't say that in public" coming from Gervaise that he's decided to reincarnate as a GGP investor and say what he's always wanted to shout from the rooftops?

Joking apart, thanks a lot for the fantastic presentation, Magic!

GGP is much safer because the Havieron project is being fast-tracked by New rest who seem to have already made a decision to mine it. Cobra, on the other hand, is at a very early prospective stage.

The potential for fast SP growth is higher here but it's riskier. When the good results land, the risk will reduce considerably and a lot of hesitant investors will jump in here. However, I wouldn't sell GGP to invest here.

I hope that the newly appointed directors will steer the company towards success.

My only worry when I saw the appointments was that one of the chaps used to work for a company linked to David Lenigas. When yesterday's RNS appeared, I thought I wouldn't be surprised if Lenigas was one of the people participating in the placing. He's Australian and has recently been gloating about gold discoveries in Australia. Some people on the GGP board were annoyed when he started to praise the company. On the positive side, his companies tend to have meteoric (if somewhat short-lived) rises. But these days I'd rather stay away from anything he's involved in. I hope he's not on board.

I'm amazed they turned it around so quickly! It must have been the quickest placing in the history of LSE (I thought such things happened only on AIM).

Should be good fun next week: either a good profit or a good lesson!

Let's be civil: people get annoyed when an unexpected RNS drops in (and the expected one doesn't) and often start bickering. The situation here isn't that bad. I'm also under water at the moment but the placing price does provide a support line for the SP, so all will be well... next week. We may even be thanking the legendary Topi at some point, although I think he simply pumped it and then sold well before it reached 2p.
