The hospital-setting arm of the study, FALCON, is led by Co-Primary Investigator, Professor Rick Body, Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Manchester, Consultant at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and Director of DiTA – the Manchester-based NHS Diagnostics and Technology Accelerator.

It will evaluate the accuracy of between 10 to 20 new COVID-19 tests – already identified as a high priority for the NHS – in hospitals. Approximately 30 hospital sites are expected to recruit patients to the FALCON study, which aims to start by the end of June 2020.

Where do you put people for 90 minutes in Schools, Airports, Work places,Football Stadiums while you wait for 90 minutes for results.

I watched on the news yesterday the MD of one of the new test companies, demonstrating & bragging how there swab test contains virus after the sample has been taken.
He put swab in his nose then into the device, snapped shut,pulled out the plastic stick and said that’s it virus contained.
Lol... Wont the cotton wool on the swab of contaminated the stick or if he had touched his nose or mouth with stick on the way out.
Sky reporter didn’t even question it....

Nothing has changed for me.
Government under so much pressure about testing from media if it works they will go with it.
90 minute tests better than they had, ideal for care homes and hospitals if they give same Result and are quicker.
But this solution is not ideal for Airports, pubs , hotels , Stadiums etc... 90 minutes too long.
I’m happy to wait for Avacta.
